This might be a fun way for MV'ers to get to know one another a little better: Tell one thing about yourself that few people know and others would be surprised to learn. Since it's my dopey thread, I'll go first.


In 1999 I was offered a guaranteed spot as a contestant on the original season of "Survivor."

I turned it down as I would have to be out of the country for 3-4 months, and would have had to quit my job.

I have congenital prosopagnosia, dyscalculia, and dyslexia. Oh my!

*EDIT* I have a few surprising things but I guess the biggest is I dated and had relations with what turned out to be a pretty big celebrity. She was 16 at the time, think I was about 18 (not any older) ... Sorry can't name names that would be weird.

I'm face-blind to people who appear outside of the environment my brain thinks they should be in. I don't recognize co-workers outside of work and I don't recognize other people at work.


I have Aspergers and am high-functioning to the degree that I'm almost a Savant in some topics. I've learned to be a social chameleon in order to fit into social situations since it's very hard for me to pick up on social cues.

Where were we now?

I met Richard Dreyfuss in 1989 on the Paramount lot.....I was only 16 and he read some stuff he was writing to me. Very funny guy. 30 minutes later Jennifer Tilly walked into the room. They just did a fantastic film called "Let it Ride". Jaw-dropping sexuality. Of course I hit on her. She was nice and kissed my cheek and said, "Maybe in a few years."

While I was in High School, I worked in food service in what was once the world's largest psychiatric hospital. Unofficial job title "Dining Room Girl" (yes, there were a few guys, but mostly women). It was a fun job, and we had benefits and a union. And keys to the place!

I worked with the criminally insane. Or more technically, their food.

I've taught a 45 year old man how to read and write and a 26 year old girl how to ride a bicycle.
