I was due to be born in the second week of January 1970. I was born in Washington DC and my father worked for the IRS at the time. The bastard got my mother to have labor induced so I was born on December 30, 1969 & he could write me off on that years taxes.. To this day I blame my 26" inseam and stumpy arms on that.

Same thing happened to Paul Westerberg and he got a great song out of it. "Income tax deduction, what a hell of a function"

Judy? six slice toaster oven and it puts the butter on itself while making the eggs and hollandaise sauce

I saw Alanis Morrisette on walking along the beach in Poipu, Kauai, about fours years ago.

She was very short and actually quite hot.

And in a moment speaking volumes to both this era and my own shallowness, I confirmed it was really her by Googling "alanis morrisette kauai" when I got back to our condo.

So, there: I am surprisingly shallow.

Musician. The Tori Amos guess is not all that far off either really. I did PM a few of you I know (you included, hey if you can' trust a cop...) and you'll understand what I mean by that.

Sadly, inspite of our best efforts working with animal behaviourists, vet and others we could not stop our cat from.attacking us. After 2 other admissions to hospital after yet again being attacked we had to have him put to sleep. Very sad.

I, sadly had a similar occurrence. When I was a teen, I saw a neighbor boy who was a little "off" throw his cat from his second floor bedroom into the back yard for 'fun'. I took the cat away from him and tried to give it a better home. Things were going well until one day when my mother leaned over to give him his bowl of food, the cat suddenly attacked her, clawing and biting his way up her arm to her neck. She was hospitalized too.

After that, it's been only dogs for me.

I'm a member of the International Mensa.

A fact I don't typically publish, because it easily leads to wrong conclusions - mainly because not many really knows what the heck Mensa is actually about.

In a nutshell it's about having way above average abilities in a very narrow area. These abilities are about being good in understanding complex causal relations and having good spatial perception capabilities.

And that's it. It does not mean anything else or give any indication on other skills or capabilities. For example, I'm a way below awerage, truly lousy chess player. That's because although I do benefit from the ability to "see the board" and possible movements easily, I have very bad memory skills - which are required to be a good player.

I'm a very inactive member, but like the tiny bit of good this organization does mainly to support education. And I truly dislike the few, luckily minority that try to make Mensa membership something else than it is.

American Mensa is my group, and about every other ride I have The Thought about "why are we riding these dangerous machines?" Then those brain cells get mugged by all the other brain cells who know that it's cool and fun and it gets-the-chicks, and it's Off To The Races once again.

My father in law is a pretty cool man though. Did a stint in the NHL and went on to become Chief Detective of Guelph. This is one of my favourite pics of him. He's the one on the left.

How could i forget Mother Thersea. Crying or Very sad emoticon Definitely the Trifecta of peeps in the 80's. I often say it's to bad when i met Bin Laden i knew of what he'd become and make sure he didn't make it to the year 2001. STROM cat bites are the worst. I don't like them. Evil creatures and plus i'm deathly allergic to them. I hear ya on the life after death thing. Seen to many things over the years as a nurse to not believe. Had this Patient in the Burn Center in Richmond VA. He was up in a cherry picker working on some lines and he didn't make sure that someone had turned off the electricity. He dies and they brought him back. He remembers being above the EMT'S and could tell me what they looked like, and what they did what they were wearing what they did. He lived in another area of VA so it's not like he knew the EMT'S. He told me what town the ambulance crew was from and he was dead at the time! After my fav bunny Boomer died. He was paralyzed in his hind legs. Had to have him put to sleep. That nite i woke up to the sensation of him running up and down my bed in the wee hours of the morning. Something that he used to love to do before he became paralyzed. Then i was in a rehab center after a horrific car accident where i went off a cliff in Nogales Mexico. I have still have a dent in my head where it hit the section that separates the side window from the Windshield. Never lost consciousness either. Wan't my time to go. About 4 weeks in i woke up in a cold sweat ( wasn't on any hard pain meds at that time) and i hear my parents talking about me. They had been dead for 25+ years. When i dream it's not in sound. Makes one wonder.

Did you know that Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson (all 6' 10" of him) is a credentialed photo journalist at NASCAR and other big time sports events?

We each should have something of a "hobby" or passion that's a bit off what most people consider "fun". It's what makes us all unique. Riding a scooter is fun, but very mainstream.

Me? I spend at least one evening a week umpiring youth baseball (ages 9-12). Usually in our town it's a job for high school kids, but I'm just having so much fun. I even got the whole umpire uniform this year (pants, belt, ball bag and all). I'm in my 8th season.

Riding 1022 miles in 22 hours isn't that difficult because it doesn't involve riding that quickly but as a place to start it's not bad.

However if you'd like to try 1200 miles in less time you're very welcome.

Maybe 2162 miles in 53 hours when you're done with that ?

Maybe it's the fact that I do ride quickly most of the time, my challenge is the endurance side of things. I'm not trying to detract from your accomplishments, just stating my own experience.

I'm beginning to think I must qualify as "The most Boring Person Who Ever Lived".

Well one thing I can say that I don't think too many here can say, I have met Judy!

One somewhat funny thing about the day I met Judy is while walking around the Aloha tower in Honolulu while talking to Judy on cell phone trying to figure out where she was parked. My wife was flapping her arms at me and I kept motioning to her "NOT NOW!"

As it happens the reason wife was trying to get my attention was the fenced off area I was walking into was fenced off because of the Chinese Navy ship moored a few feet away. have to wonder if my picture is now on file in some office in Peking!

Just got me to thinking maybe that is why this Chinese ship was parked next to our cruise ship a few days latter in Tahiti:

I am half Japanese, half Mexican-American. My mom only spoke Japanese, so that's what my sisters and I spoke until kindergarten. My dad speaks Spanish, Japanese, and, of course, English.

Dad loved to joke that being Mexican/Japanese meant that I'd be good at stealing cars, but bad at driving them. I'm not sure that Asians being bad drivers is a valid stereotype anymore, though...

There are dozens of us. DOZENS!
