So, during inspection it was found my right brake light switch was inop.
Ordered and received the part from sponsor Scooterpartsco.com today - thanks guys!- but when I install the switch, it immediately triggers the brake light, even if not screwed into the brake.
Unplug from the harness and it turns off.
I wouldn't think it's a bad switch, it seems the issue with 'em seems to be the red button wearing down more than anything else.

Is this a known issue that is can be remedied relatively easily?

Ideas?

A Sierra Nevada Torpedo makes the process less frustrating-but-

*Thanks to Mitch's videos!
- This was the first time I've removed the headset and it went smoothly with their guidance.

**While removing the headset a little red plug with 'M10' on it fell out from somewhere...does it need to go back? If so...where? I don't see where it night have been previously.

***I don't post much but have lurked for a loooong time and appreciate the experience and willingness to help around these parts.
Thanks.

It's an on switch that is off when the red button is pressed in, so it's going to trigger the brake light as soon as it is plugged into the harness, if the brake lever isn't pressing it down.
It is possible to get a brake switch that is DOA right out of the box. Switch the right and left brake switches and see if the problem switches sides. Also, check to see if someone changed out the brake lever and left out the washer. It can have more up and down play than it should, and not strike the switch correctly.
Someone probably got a little enthusiastic when they took off the windshield and the red plug goes on the mounting hardware, if I had to guess. Get a flashlight and look up into the holes where you mount a windshield and see if there's any other parts.

Thanks!
I had typed and deleted in the original post that it was probably just me and...yeah, it was.
Makes total sense and it works fine.
More of an 'off/on' switch than an 'on/off' switch;^)

Thanks again.

I had a couple of switches that were bad. My brake light switch went out and when i ordered it i got replacements for all the switches. The other ones didn't work right (thank you made in China crap). I ended up throwing them away (i think i did ). They might still be in my parts drawer. So much for my treat the LX to brand new switches.
