Took advantage of a cool, cloudy day.
I grew up in Abilene, Texas which, until 1978, prohibited sales and public consumption of alcohol (if you want to read some interesting local history, look at the Wikipedia article on Impact, Texas). Buffalo Gap was a small crossroads a few miles from town and was well-known locally as a place where you could order a beer with your dinner. The town had a German-style biergarten/restaurant with pretty good food and an outdoor courtyard for dining under the stars. Today, Abilene is no longer dry and the old Deutschlander is a catfish joint (where you can still get a beer). Buffalo Gap is now better known for the Perini Ranch, a James Beard winning steakhouse. Tom Perini and his wife have cooked for Rachel Ray, the Today Show, and other well known venues. They were scheduled to cook for the Bushes and were at the White House on 9/11. I have to say, that little Liberty takes advantage of all 155ccs. I can peg the throttle and maintain a steady 62 even on a slight uphill stretch, which allows me to take short trips out of town without getting run over. ![]()

A close call!
Gee! as I was about to leave, I confused my Vespa 300 with that ZX14 Kawasaki parked next to it yesterday at the coffee shop, and almost rode off on the wrong bike. You can see how that could be possible to do, considering the uncanny resemblance between the two... ![]()
