This is now my scooter... Lexmoto Apollo 125cc... traded in the Vespa as it was sadly feeling too small for me... I'll see myself out... Nice to meet you all!

Hey, don't feel obligated to leave just because you aren't on a Vespa. Heck, I hung out here for years riding a Chinese bike.

You won't find a better group of all around scooter enthusiasts anywhere.

I attend a meet-up of bikes of varying makes & sizes every Weds... this was New Years Eve.

Gravel roads in the mountains are typically empty on Mondays when the weekend warriors in the SUVs are working.

(Little over a 100km on gravel today)

Could set wet bits ahead so decided to not continue and yes I had to walk it backwards to get out of there.

Just joined and as my first post, I thought I'd share what I'm riding.

Did you notice a reduction in engine performance at this altitude? 🤔

I'd have thought not with a modern fuel injection engine, I always presumed it was vehicles with Carbs that suffered a bit with high altitude fuel problems.

Nah, not so. The less oxygen at high alt affects all engines - carby and efi.

Modern fuel inj engines monitor the ambient pressure and reduce their fueling to match. So they run well but with less power.

Specifically the ecu in the gts takes nite of the pressure in the throttle body before the start button is pressed. The current air temp is also measured in the tb because that also affects the amount of oxygen. These two are used to look in a map for a percentage correction that is applied to the fuel after the main fuel map is read.

here's the air pressure / temp correction map.

air pressure is approx 810 mBar at 1850 m alt. therefor since it was aprox 20C the correction factor would be around 0.85 ie -15% fuel.

I like the "less decals." I have a Super Sport and would love to get rid of the orange and black stripes.

It is a very cheap mod , yust pull them off
