Speaking of cheese balls, I was overjoyed when I walked into the grocery store today and found that Planters has brought back Cheez Curls and Cheez Balls. Hooray!!!!

On a more serious note, has the severe weather there passed now? Is it going to have any repercussions for our plans and rides?

Flo turned north in central NC, so the eastern part was mostly spared I think. We should be ok - normal risk of showers. Right now, weather guessers shows 40-60% chance of scattered. So a normal forcast for this time of year in the mountains.

Check your tires, people! I did check mine before this past weekend's WisconScoot, and they were getting pretty low on tread, but I thought I'd be OK.

I was wrong.

By the time I was coming home, I felt the need to call my Dad to come pick me up. Check out how bad it got on the attached pic. You can't see it very well, but the cords are actually starting to fray!

So, it looks like I'll be riding the Indian again this year. At least I have 2 bikes to choose from...

Several miscellany this morning. I'm still giddy from a fabulous weekend in Oklahoma celebrating OU football, and more importantly (at least this time), Army football. Paratroopers delivering game ball, howitzers/missile launchers/M-1 ? Tank - huge machine/real Army men and women explaining their craft in the parking lot, chinook and Apache flyovers, Army precision drill team and honoring an Oklahoma Army family whose Mom was in Afghanistan - or was she? Nope - reunion on the field. Great night.

So weather is better looking now than a few days ago. I think we should be able to dodge the rains or wait them out.

Ponydrvr- did you happen to discuss with Mike food/cookout? I recall Skyline offers a breakfast - also recall it being a bit slow. I know we did their cookout one evening that was pretty great burgers and sausages of some sort.

Also - KV and Nor do you have ideas for dinner and/or breakfast?

I think KV will lead us Friday and Midnight Rider on Saturday?

I'm planning a long southern route Thursday if weather permits - lunch at noonish at Tellico Grains. Then across Skyway and catch the Parkway NE of Silva and take it ~110 miles to Skyline. Close to 400 mike day tho, so may have to shorten (eliminate or shorten Parkway). If anyone wants to do some of this, let me know.

KV has planned a route (sorta) for Friday, per KV. Adrian/Tim will lead on Saturday.

I did not speak to Mike about any food preparations only lodging as best I recall. I am willing to eat most any place for a good country meal.

I will be unable to attend this year's Fall Gathering, due to some illness in my family.

Stays at the Gathering...

Had a great time! Thanks Kevin, Adrian, and Tim for leading the rides. They were fantastic roads.

On the odd note, we witnessed the unbelievable - Fuzzy and a trailer. He must be getting old. He somehow lost the influence of OAD.

Great time! I too made it home with no issues. Great to see all of you that made it. Great weather. Good fellowship. Good food. Good fun.

And yes, Fuzzy got soft on us.

I am very glad he was able to make it and ride with everyone, regardless of how he got his bike there.

I wish I could have been there but family commitments made long before the gathering date had to be met.

So when is the spring gathering and where?

We just pulled into Geneseo. Now I get to take my day off tomorrow and really relax and recover

Why did you leave Kevin and me out of pic?

Did 500 miles yesterday. First 2 hours in rain. Got to inlaws in PA today. Had a great time. Doug and I can retire from ride planning as we had 2 great days of riding. Kevin just needs some remedial instruction in planning ice cream 🍦 stop as required part of route.

Trailer a good option with slick rear tire in rain. I brought the bike without a sticker stating "if you see this bike on trailer call the cops" so Will didn't get to hold the planned sticker removal ceremony.

I had a lot of help from Tim and beginners luck! I'll quit while I am ahead and pawn the leading off to... ummm... someone else!

I am glad you did not have to ride on that rear tire, it would have been interesting in the rain!
