Do any of you clear coat or use clear nail polish on your buttons so the symbols don't fade off? Just curious if I should do it or not.

The one they use the most in Italy is the horn.
You will notice the symbol is not where the thumb touches . Turn signal switch likewise. I'd say leave them. |

Hama, they are fine, just leave them. They won't fade. Putting nail varnish on them may indeed damage the paint in the switches causing it to become fluid before drying. This may cause blurring of the painted lines.

I'll chime in with leave them and if they do fade, well they fade. If you have to park outside for long periods though I'd recommend a scooter cover.

Reminds me of one work trip in Germany. I jumped into an old, older than usually in Germany taxi. It was a Merc, as they often are. The passanger side handsupport on the door was worn out so badly, it had a large hole in it. But it was really worn out, like an old marble or something - smooth, just material polished away during years of hard use.
...and to the actual question: hard plastic and nailpolish can be a bad combo. I'd just leave them, they are likely to last very long time. |
