I stopped at the red signal, but the car behind me couldn't. (The signal was not very clear, because a tree hided it.)
Me, like in a cartoon, stopped at the air, but my et2 went on like a bullet. I took off to my butts, and I hadn't got any big injuries. Thanks God, only some little scars on my palm (I always ride in gloves, today I didn't!) and a little pain at my hand.
It's strange, but on the air I didn't worry about myself, but the scooter. It's a more or less cheap scooter, but my present friendship with money isn't very well. I was very lucky, because I fell off like Bruce Willis in an action movie, there aren't any damages on my clothes too.

It seems mechanically OK. Tomorrow morning I go to the mechanic. Since a few years I serviced the scooter, but now I wanted to show it to a pro.

Sorry to hear and see the damage. Hopefully the car's owner had insurance to cover the damage. Maybe you will get a new paint job on the scooter out of this. Take care.

This is a problem. I called a body reapair place, and the mechanic told me, the body work is almost the same price like the scooter, and the insurance companies wouldn't give me enough money for this work.

Ouch! Glad you're okay. That's the most important.

Too bad about the scooter, but if it's mechanically sound, you can still ride.

I hope, I'll have enough money to remove at least the dents, and I'll buy a decal sticker. I am a little bit sad. And the scooter is in daily use, I go to work on it, because I can save money, the public transport is not too cheap. But I do not only use my Vespa. I love it. You know. End of the jeremiad.

I went to the mechanic. The screw of the left turn signal made a hole on the fuel tank. When he screw out, the fuel started to leak. I'll swap it to a used one. But the mechanic said, there are not any big problem. It is need a body repair, but I think without paint. I am going to buy a big sticker. I would very grateful with your advices. Thanks to Gyro I have one, but I am loking for other types.

First off, glad you're OK!

Insurance has got to be a about the biggest legal racket in existence. Hopefully if you are injured they do help and I assume there is a police report? Being run at a red light is no small offence. If the light is not properly visible from the roadway the municipality should at least correct that situation or something much worse could happen in the future.

Oh blimey... Glad you came away with few injuries, but as someone stated your writs are going to be hurting for a while.
As for the vespa, maybe you can work on it yourself, there are lots of videos on youtube on how to remove dents, wont be easy but I think you maybe up for a challenge and you will do a good job as well.
File a report with the city to have them clean up the branches on the trees that are blocking the lights.
Someone mentioned how insurance is a big scam, yes Insurance works because the future price of fear is always over priced and they know that.

I am going to take the scooter to a pro to remove the dent, but without paint. I am thinking on plasty dip spray, but I don't think it is good enough. I would try to paint by myself. The fuel tank I can swap when I find a used one in good condition.

As I told you, the screw of the left turn signal went into the fuel tank. If I don't screw it out, there is no leak. The mechanic said I'd better to swap this, because it is not too safe.
What do you think? Could I repair it? (With glue or other stuff?)

Q-Bond should fix it. Reputed to be fine for fuel tank repairs. At least it'll get you going until you can get a replacement.

This is the stuff - should be available in Hungary:

Glad you weren't hurt worse. It does seem like the ET took the brunt of the damage. Be sure to see a DR if you hurt worse. Can't add any comments but hang in there. The dent can be popped out i think. Get it to a good body shop because they can fix most anything.

I am very grateful to you because your kind words. These help me a lot, because I am feeling, that the stress of the accident comes now, a little bit later. Today I felt myself very unconfortable when I saw the traffic, although I walked to my workplace. Mentally I am more fragile than physically. I am OK, but I know myself, and when I am too strong in a problem, later I will pay for it. I am not sure that this is understandable. English for me is like to build LEGO. I can use only the bricks I have. But you are really great. I promise, I will make a project report about my work.

In auto-accesories shops there are epoxy glues specialized for gas tanks.

Sorry to hear this happened and your insurance isn't going to be much help.

Your English is very good and better than any of our Hungarian!

I was in a very serious car crash 15 years ago. It took me a year to feel normal confident on the road again.

Go and get a check up at the doctors too.....injuries and strains can creep up on you later.

After the accident I had only a little pain in my wrist. But a few days later it was worse. I worried a little bit, because I am a piano teacher... I went to a specialist, he made a roentgen, and it wasn't broken. But it isn't good yet.

These weeks I was depressed when I looked (or thinked) to my scooter. But now I am optimistic a little bit. The welder is very cheap, I hope he makes good job.
