hi! i just noticed this and am a little concerned. i noticed the left brake lever is much looser than the right brake lever. should i be worried about this? Or are they all like that?

Sounds like the "perch" (the piece that clamps around the handlebar into which the brake lever is hinged) is loose. You'll likely have to remove the headset cover to get at the clamping bolt to tighten it. My experience is mainly with the LX models, but I assume the Primavera is not too different in this regard.

A dead giveaway that this is the problem is that the rear view mirror moves when you squeeze the brake lever because the mirror also screws into the perch.

If by "loose" you mean that you need to squeeze it farther to activate the brake, it could simply mean that your brake itself or the cable needs adjusting.

hi thanks for the reply. by loose i mean there is more 'up and down' flex than the right one. a friend said it's because the left and right levers are different kind of brakes. still seems weird.

i'm going to check to see if it moves the mirror bar.

Should be shimmed from factory, at least the master cylinders are. Different thickness washers on either side of lever to take up the play. Checked parts book not available as separate part number. Might be able to do something similar with hardware store washers.
