Waiting for a tow truck with a flat tire. No visible reason for the flat that I can find. Checked tire pressure less than 100 mike ago and less than 1,000 miles on the scoot. Not a hint of shade and 90+ temps. AAA says it could be 2 hours before the tow truck coming from less than 10 miles away might get here that will be after dark. I am not a happy camper.

The only good part is I managed to catch someone doing paperwork at a shop in San Angelo who has promised to check it out when I get it towed there in the morning. So tonight it will be towed to my hotel for the night. I'm hoping it is something as easily remedied as a valve stem issue.

Damn - that sucks! Be curious to know the cause once it's determined.

I guess on the bright side, it wasn't 107 degrees like it's forecasted for the upcoming week here in west Texas.

There's a lot worse places to be stuck than San Angelo. Good luck maƱana!

While San Angelo isn't the worst place to be stuck (last flat I was stuck in Texarkana which is much worse) I really don't want to spend Memorial Weekend here. Hoping it will be an easy fix because getting a new tire here Friday before Memorial Day here would not be easy.

Safely at hotel with Vespa in the lot. Tomorrow morning I will call for a tow to the shop. In the meantime there is an exceptionally fine restaurant across the stree. I'm switching out of my sweaty riding pants in favor of shorts and comfy shoes to head over for an adult beverage and good meal.

Hope the ordeal wasn't/isn't too bad! PITA I'm sure. A decent nights sleep hopefully is on the menu.

I fully approve of your interim remedies. Here's to a good night's revelry and rest, and better things tomorrow.

Two margaritas steak & smoked chicken enchilada has improved my point of view. Walking over to Walmart when I'm finished to see if there is something I can use to inflate my tire Ingrid enough to ride it the 4 miles to the shop so I don't have time wait 1.5 hours for a tow truck again.

A couple margaritas, the enchiladas, and a good night's sleep will give you a fresh perspective in the morning, Cheryl. Hope you are able to find an inflator/battery pack that will allow you to air up to get the scoot to a shop. Waiting for road service is no fun... but we all know you have a great attitude.

Hope they get you rolling so you can make some miles. Ride safe.

In the end I rented a pick up and I'm back at AF1 where they are putting a K66 only GTS rear they had in stock on. Then they will load it back up and I'll return to San Angelo so I can return the straps I borrowed from Ace Motorcycle repair and get their help unloading it. Then return the truck to Enterprise and be back on my way hopefully by 10 tomorrow since the shop doesn't open until 9.

In case you are wondering there is a slit with the thread separating. Charles says it looks like a knife cut. AF1 was the closest place with a tire available.

I did walk over to Walmart and picked up a battery powered inflator-jump start and it did nothing. I should also mention that hen I walked out to the tow truck this morning to find the scoot on its side. Dumb ass driver ran the strap through wheels with scoot on center stand and no straps anyplace huger than the bottom of the tire so when he went to tighten over it went. No real damage other than a few scratches I think will buff out since they weren't through the paint.

I'm assuming you're referring to AF1 Austin. They are fantastic.

Talk about a string of bad luck. Hope you're done with it!

I'll second the "knife cut"? Where did you have it that someone could do that? I hope you got a free tow. I'm anal about my bikes when they have to be towed. There's 2 people over here who tow MC'S. The one that's the best usually does my towing. I have AMA towing. Best $49 i spend a year. Hope it's been sorted and your on your way by now.

Nobody slit my tire I either ran over something like a razor blade - construction going on, picked up something in the fresh chip and seal or had a defective tire.

Adventures continued with Scott dying on me when I left the hotel in Santa Rosa yesterday morning. Turned out my fuel line came loose. Apparently it had been barely on hot some time since once I fixed that problem and had a solid connection my mpg increased from 47 to 69.

That combined with the broken right mirror means if bad things come in threes I should have clear sailing from now on.

In your case, it probably would not have helped, but a tire plug kit and CO2 cartridges go with me everywhere.

Usually enough to get you home or to a shop so you don't get eaten by coyotes after getting a severe sunburn trying to avoid poison ivy.

Glad it wasn't a person who did that. Break out the Holy Water. Laughing emoticon Yes they do say bad things come in threes. Your's are done but i have 1 more. Crying or Very sad emoticon Had to replace the valve stems on my front and rear tires in the past 3 weeks. Both times it stranded me and i had to be towed into the shop. Good thing i have towing thru AMA. Tire Pressure monitoring System sensors were to blame. Roads have gotten that bad. Had the system on my LX for 4yrs prior without a problem. Back to normal stem covers.
