I'd like to fit a hidden switch on my scooter. I know it's not a serious theft deterrent, but it'll stop kids starting it for a laugh.

Am I right in thinking that I just need to cut the green wire, and attach it either side of a simple switch?

Not exactly. To kill or stop the motor from running the green wire going to the ignition needs to be grounded.

Ah, in that case would the correct way be:
1. Cut green wire (I've already done that under the tank)
2. Connect both ends of the cut green wire to one side of the switch
3. Connect other side of switch to ground

Thanks!

That sounds about right.

And how long until you post a question: I have no spark? Clown emoticon

More likely than someone hotwiring it is just two guys picking it up and putting it in the back of a van.
