Hi there folks,

On my LXV when i turn the ignition key before starting my check engine light goes on and then immediately off, and if I am low on fuel my low fuel light will also come on, the brights on indicator light also goes on if my brights are engaged.

But the oil pressure light, doesnt seem to come on at all. My understanding is if I turn the ignition on it should light up briefly and then go off assuming pressure is ok.

So I can only assume if the other lights in the display work that it is not the circuit correct since they are all on the same circuit?

Is there a possibility other than the bulb itself? And if it is the bulb is this a difficult job to fix on an LXV?

replace bulb and see what happens

I think they use a tiny bulb to see if it is you can easily swap with a different bulb on the speedo dash

Check the connection to the oil pressure sender unit. The wire to it may be broken or disconnected. It's location is on the lower crankcase. If you cannot find it look in a workshop manual for its location. It's not uncommon for the connection to go bad at the crankcase end.

Remove the wire from the pressure sensor and ground it out against the engine if the ignition is turned on the light should illuminate if it does then the sender is bad if it doesn't then the lightbulb is bad or the wiring is bad. My money is that the sender's bad as I have replaced several on my 55,000 mile 250
