What about Bastrop? There's a state park, hotels, and camp sites. It's close enough to other towns like Lockhart for BBQ or Luling for the original Buc-ee's. Somerville Lake is also nearby. Lots of nice roads to Giddings and La Grange. I think it would make for a great location.
It would be a great place. Do they have any festivals we could ride the coattails of during the spring? To start a fest from scratch with no existing "infrastructure" and/or supporting admin is a larger responsibility than I'm willing to take on. That aside, I'm open to about anything.

The town also has a calendar of activities for each month of the year.

Here's a list of possible places to stay:

Bastrop also has a river going through it and if I remember one of the camp sites is right next to it.

And there is some possible trail riding in the area for those who would want to do some mild off roading.

Somerville Lake would make for a great day ride.

Another great day ride would be BBQ in Lockhart. I mean that is the BBQ capital of Texas right there.

There are several bakeries in the area that are worth visiting for their kolaches. There are also several steak houses between Giddings and La Grange.

Lots and lots of country roads.

A longer ride could be to the Shiner Brewery. Another Texas classic.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I actually think I'd like to help in some way with this.

Scooter fest in Texas in early April...very interesting. We usually cross Texas in our motorhome in early April and I plan to take my scooter south with me this coming winter.

We actually don't have a date nailed down quite yet. It will most likely be sometime during April or May.

From this weekend's Texas United Scooter event I got commitments from 24 people that would definitely attend a scooter event the first weekend in May. It looks like we may have enough juice to crank this thing up!
