Modern Vespa

Just got back from attending a Moto Guzzi Rally in West Virginia, 600 miles. I have owned the MP3 2009 for 1 month. When I bought it, it had only had 1000 miles on it, now 1670. Impressions, handled better than my Can-am Spyder. Also more fun. We hit some wind and rain, good protection from the rain but the winds blew it around some-until I slowed down. Trucks also sometimes caused it to do a little dance but I have a better feel for that now. Mileage, roughly, 55 mpg. Speeds 65-70. The Guzzi guys and gals liked it. Jim

Wind is an absolute bugger on these. You'd think a 250kg bike could handle wind a bit better. I honestly wouldnt dare go above 50-55 on a windy day. All over the place.

There is a large front end area and I also have a medium wind shield. It was fine once I slowed down. I do wish the gas tank was larger. I carry a small metal gas container, may get a larger one. The trip was smooth and the scooter was up to the job.

Another camping trip this weekend. I installed Grab on Grip Covers, easy to do I used alcohol and a heat gun(or hair dryer) easy on with a cloth wrapped around the grip. Much better grip and throttle control. I bought some lowering links for the rear shocks. I will report when they are installed.
