our only local dealer is having some personnel issues. All the mechanics, service advisor and parts manger quit all at once! They don't have anyone to set up the new bikes much less service customer's bikes...

Sounds like your local dealer MAY have been a tough cookie to work for. Hope all learn a lesson and he is back up and running soon.

Appears to be La Moto Washington. I purchased my BV 350 there last fall. At the time a truly great dealership. From the on-line reviews and the postings here from Budz and Monguire, I'm very concerned. The closest other authorized dealer is Chesapeake Cycles in Annapolis, which is "only" about 35 road miles away, but in the DMV, that is about an hour ride over very congested roads. Chesapeake is very good (I bought my GTS from them in 2013), but it's a bit of a hike and not really doable in rush hour traffic around here. I may have to use the independent shop in DC, which is OK, but I wasn't all that impressed when I used them in the past. Oh well, life is one of constant adjustments.

yes, La Moto Washington. Both mechanics gave me their numbers to work on my GTS but both will be working and living an hour away so it will be difficult. The new people they hired at La Moto seem nice but they don't seem to be scooter folks but I can wrong...

I would appreciate a PM with their names and phone numbers -- and current locations. Thanks.

Is LaMoto the former (or new name for) Vespa of Arlington? If so, are they still owned by the guy who sells used cars, and rents cars and RVs from the same office?

yes on both counts, from what I understand he's still part owner and caused the meltdown but that is what rumor mill says and not sure what the truth is, you know how rumors can be...

Oy, talk about headache-inducing...

Funny, but there seems to have been a sizeable personnel change at my old dealership just before they jettisoned Vespa from their lineup. Thankfully, the Indian dealership much closer to me picked the line up shortly thereafter, so I seem to have dodged a bullet on that front. Hope the situation at La Moto gets sorted out, but happy to know you're in contact with the guys who did the wrenching for them beforehand.
