Hey i have a Vespa 50 S 1977. Its my first Vespa so Im new to this. Recently its been hard to start and sometimes it didnt start at all. Yesterday when i took it for a ride and it did start but after a while it slowly died. I tried to start it but it wouldnt. I drove it home on a trailer and parked it in the garage. When i saw it in the morning today it was a little gas under the Vespa and when i screwed out the spark plug it was all black almost. I read that its because its flooded/top rich? What should i do?[/img]

Welcome to the forum.

First, throw that fouled plug in the trash and put a new one in.

Second, make sure you are running a 2% mixture.

See if that helps. If not, the carb may need cleaning or adjusting.

This covers cleaning and adjusting a 19/19 carb. You probably have a 16/16 which is similar.
