Modern Vespa

The Barrio Café photos are SOOOOOO cool. Makes a person wish they were in Phoenix instead of Oregon. Although, with the insane hot weather we've been having up here lately, it almost feels like Tucson here...which is saying a lot.

Near the 'old' downtown area of Medford, Oregon, this mural is painted on the side of an older building, adjacent to railroad tracks. You have to go out of your way, to find it.
I did.

It's been a crazy hot summer and it isn't over yet. We're only supposed to hit 101° today but the humidity is triple what we're used to.

In the small southern Oregon city of Ashland (it's more of a large town, really), there is a street on which a number of local artists painted murals on the fences, some years ago. The passing of the years has left the paint a little faded, but they are still quite cool. My favorite is the one of a giant new-age Jellyfish (aka Medusa) floating along the fence.

This one has more of a colorful, geometric vibe to it.

The last one (on this street) makes me think of a psychedelic Sea Serpent...

In Ashland, Oregon. This particular mural was painted in honor of Ashland's "Sister City" of Guanajuato, Mexico.

Great murals! So many incredible artists out there and love the time we live in where it is so common to have murals or graffiti openly displayed!

Since I've only had the scooter running since November I had to wait for better weather to see what mural I could find. I think this one looks pretty good.

Protective wall art:

A couple of images from this past weekend, a rare mild winter day in the Upper Left Corner that required a scooter ride. These are in downtown Olympia, not far from where I live. The building on Capitol way just happens to house my favorite gelato shop, we seem to end up there often.
