Modern Vespa

Hi all, I was wondering if there was any information available about a replacement air filter for the GT200.

I have read an article that was on MV somewhere, but there was nothing with regards to part numbers, sizes or types of filters that will do the job nicely.

I do understand though that there is quite a bit of induction noise after this mod, but with out actually hearing it I think that it could be kind of sweet sounding...

I was also looking for some opinions on an aftermarket exhaust for the GT. I see the Scorpion version everywhere but have heard quite a few bad reports about it'd life span. I did see a PM tuning exhaust http://store.cmsiinc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PM62&Category_Code=VespaGT200 on a mates scoot the other day which looked and sounded the part, and he hasn't had an issue with it.

As for pipes, I've read more bad than good about the Scorpions as far as quality goes. I'm still running a stock exhaust on my GTS so take my words with a grain of salt.

In any case, if you do those mods you will probably have to change the jets in your carb so you don't squeek your engine by running it too lean. The increased air flow via the less restrictive filter and exhaust pretty much demands you send more fuel along with it.

Thanks for this Dave, that is about what I have heard about the Scorpion's as well. Also I have read the above posted thread about the aftermarket air filter but there is nothing to help me out. ie: part numbers etc...

Can anyone provide a part number for this mod?
