I would buy a scooter from Lisa Julen... no, I'd buy two scooters from her... whatever she sold, I'd buy....

I would say Lisa Julen was doing just a couple of laps for the camera and it worked very well - but the lack of safety gear on the other riders amazed me - no gloves, jackets, and jeans to cover the legs.

Surely this is not a common thing in the states? It's frowned on here in Australia.

Surely, gloves as a minimum.

It varies. I would predict, however, that typically you're going to see jeans before jackets and jackets before gloves. Helmets usage varies directly with laws requiring such.

Not even helmets are required in IL (unless they've changed that in the year since I left).

All in all, I think the clip was good publicity for our cause. Though, the herds are bound to thin out when all these new folks start wrecking and get scared back into their cages. Either that or they'll press on and get smart about Toreador Pants and rider training.

I'm a hypocrite, though, since I don't even own a cycle jacket. I do always wear long pants and closed shoes, however. To each his own, I say![/quote]

That guy is dreaming.

Its just been pointed out to me that when I shot the overlay in the Aprilia 250 story on scootrtv's current episode - the rider was not wearing gloves.

And here I was beating the safe riding drum .....

4 miles sounds like the dealer wrecked it.

Probably some noob who bought in to the dealer's "it's just like riding a bike" nonsense.
