I just picked up a 1971 Rally 180.

It has a few fun things: Molossi 210 kit, Ported cylinder, Reed valve,
Keihin Flat slide carburator, Prima expansion pipe. I was told that Tommy Magnusson did the engine work. Tommy is a well respected Scooter Mechanic that worked at Vespa Hause in Sacramento. He is also a member of the Burgandy Topz.

Should be a fun scoot. Man I will be needing a front disk break set up for this little puppy...

I'm waiting for Rover Eric to tell you how much that thing ISN'T worth, now that it isn't stock.
At least you didn't include pics of you wearing your leapord print speedos while posing on it.

This thing is just gunna be a racer...

They cut the side to fit the massive carb. It looks way better in pictures. But we are starting to see Vintage only Rallys in Northern California. Thats a whole lot of beer to miss out on. Too bad it sounds like a dam Yamaha.

Upon further inspection my ass is really not that Lilly White...

Yea not a big fan of the P-Series sure its a workhorse and all. But I that horn cast is yucky looking...

I did get a rash of hate mail after that post. After playing Pritty Pritty Pincess for a full weekend I have learned to play just a little better with people...

Not to re-hash an old subject, but you can't buy cool nor can you buy street cred or scooter cred. Have fun with that one, I'm pretty certain I know some of the history on it, and it's a total hack job. Best of luck with it though. Bye the way what ever happened to you at Doomtown?

Weekend Rallys
I rode up on my GT-60 friday, Napa Coach was on his GTS. I had to get a room at a different hotel that was pet friendly as I took Thor the wonder puppy. I was at the meet up place but I dident see you. We rode as a group to the Bar and listened to the Band and after the Band finished Bill was spinning some Ska. I left Saturday and went to Shindig in San Jose.
I saw Soup Can from Twist and Play but I must have missed you on Sautrday morning.
As for the Scooter, I dont really have high hopes for it. Its getting a Rattle Can Flat Black Paint job. I might just keep it in my secret scooter storage garage in SF it will have nice company with a little Stock Super, and Stock mostly unmolested Silver Lambretta. I wont have this one restored. I am gunna give it heaps of disrespect and just ride the crap out of it.

Front fenders are for sissys anyway..

The 210 kit is an interesting ride.
You can almost feel the expansion pipe fill up then all of a sudden POWER... Its fun to ride....

Ykes I am gunna need better brakes...

I put an old P-series tail light on it. I love that old look....

For the brakes I guess we are kind of in the same boat and need to find some PK 150 forks and a disc kit. Good luck, the price always scares me but I'll be there one day.

b/w Nice ride.

There's no such thing as a PK150.

There's a PK125 ( smallframe ) and a PX150 ( largeframe )

Regardless, the PK front fork is largely regarded to be the best drop-in replacement for better suspension and braking, and they aren't terribly expensive.

ALSO - DON'T GO RIGHT FOR THE DISC BRAKE KIT.

The standard drum brake on a PK front fork is way more advanced, and you'll find the drum brake alone to be sufficient enough for braking. Probably 10x the braking power you have on the shitty Sprint / Rally fork.

I know this is just opinion, and it's a minority one at that, but the Rally looked much better before you sprayed it with flat black rattle can paint. I know, I know...it's me. I just don't understand the attraction of a rat bike.

Well, it's hardly a rally anymore. Silly bastard should have gotten a P200 and slapped a 210 kit on that. It would have been worse if he painted that horrible Royal Bastards logo of theirs on it.

Stuff about Stuff
A P200 wouldent qualify in Northern California for the "Vintage only" rides I plan on doing.

P200's to me look sucky anyway I am not a big fan of thier lines.

Plus the price on this rally was really too good to pass up. Sadly a Divorced forced the sale and I picked it up after 4 reductions in price.
Plus the sweet thing is alot of local people were afraid of the engine work until they found out who did it and by that time it was already in my garage. The owner had just paid $1500.00 in engine work.

Right now all the metal is protected so it's still a good candiate for restoration. However thats really not my plan with this scooter.

This is the kind of scooter that when a Scooter Girl gets on the back of it she knows that she will be getting Lucky for sure.

Front Fender Question
So I couldent find a cut down front fender from SIP. I guess I could cut one down myself...

Eric do you know of a manfacture that makes Rally fenders that look more like a motorcycle. Kind of Racing style?...
