Well, for me, pretty trivial.....went out with Mrs. fledermaus on this cold but sunny day to try to catch the last of the prime fall colors. Drove to a nearby state forest known for sometimes spectacular displays, but alas, it was not to be...maple leaves all gone, just mostly brown oak leaves. Then a cloud cover rolled in and it was all over.

Coffee shop was worth it, though, as was the local ice cream store that has chai tea custart....

Well, what pissed me off the most was after driving half the day to see colors, the best tree of the day was our neighbors.

My new Garmin 396 motorcycle GPS. I keep trying to register the danged thing and download a software update and keep getting "Install Failed. Garmin Express could not be installed on this computer. Try installing again."

My phone basically forced me to install updates. I knew no good could come of it. The changes were mostly benign like most of the symbols for apps changed subtly for no good reason other than so the designers could justify thier exisistance but the real problem is that now I cant upload pictures here or on craigslist. Thanks.

Those updates are usually for security, you should have your phone set up to down load them automatically. Unless you like being hacked. Hope you don't have the same attitude towards updates on your computers.

If you pay attention, you will see one app updates with the rest to follow shortly the same day or within a day or two, that is because a security flaw was found in the OS and an app update is needed to patch.

Do a phone OS update and within 48 hour most of your apps will have updated too. There is a reason.

I understand the security concerns abd I'm OK with that but whenever I have to an update other things are changed and things don't work the same. Usually it's jus a little annoying until I learn the new way but, as I said one of the changes made it so I can no longer upload pictures. If I could do the security updates without changing anything else I would not hesitate to do it.

I have a Google Pixel I bought from Google and use it on the Google Fi network. So I get true Android no Carrier crap installed.
After an update my phone stopped charging when it was on. To get it to charge I had to shut the phone down, plug in power, turn phone back on and it would charge.
So I got on Google Fi support app and no previous reports of this problem were in the system. Within a few minutes a Google support tech called me to get the details, did some testing and they said they would get back to me. Within One day Google emailed me back asking to check for OS updates again and to push the updated to the phone. Updated my phone and it charged as it should. Love Google Fi Support

For those that don't know, Google Fi is cell / data service offered by Google. If you don't use a lot of data it is a deal. $20 a month for cell service then $10 a gig and it is prorated. So you use 1 and a 1/2 gig, you get charged for 1 and 1/2 gig, not 2 gig. Oh and no contract, pay for Cell service upfront and data used you pay for at the end of the month.
They use Sprint, T Mobil and DTS as their carriers and it will use the strongest signal and seamlessly switch carriers if you have a Google Fi approved phone.
And it's just open to most android phones now.

Sounds good. I'm obviously not a heavy data user but Verison is the only thing that will get a signal at my house.

San Francisco is pissing me off this morning. Towed the rental car away for supposedly blocking a driveway when it certainly was not. $638 and it's only been 2 hrs. Criminals
