The collective term for Motorcycle Instructors is a Thrush as they really are a bunch of irritating Cxxxs.

Same scenario as above except louder and and more bombastic than the usual customers but given the choice of filling the seats in the larger part of the cafe they all try to cram into the smaller section so any kind of conversation becomes impossible.

Anyone who turns up on a bike ( that wasn't a GS ) who rides without wearing gloves and thinks they are a better rider than me can poke it.

This happened to me too and I took mine out prior to reading I should heat them. I took out the Dremel, cut flathead screwdriver slots, took them out, and reused them.

And another thing. I had a conversation with a buddy about buying a new town car next year and talk of the Fiat 500 came up because they are coming to the end of the production run ( EV model apart ) and therefore should be stacked high and sold cheap while loaded with extras to clear the shelves.

Next day an advert for a Fiat 500 arrives in my email so yes my phone is listening.

However, my gripe is that the base model 500 is £2000 more expensive than the competition so why if they have been cranking this model out virtually unchanged sinse 2007 why does it cost so much more in Poverty Spec ?

The fact that a 8 wheel tipper truck pulled out in front of me this morning while I was cranked over on a roundabout.

Strung between the two sets of wheels was a banner which read - I look out for Motorcyclists.

I'll leave that there.

When someone types hundreds or even thousands of many-line messages that way over many years, it starts becoming a problem for the forum and, thus, the moderators.

The sad part is that it's extra effort for him, in addition to everyone that must put up with his posts. He likely doesn't even realize that his browser will automatically word-wrap while he types, or that the forum will automatically word-wrap based on whoever is viewing the message on whatever device they happen to be viewing it on.

It's not a typewriter.

Yes, but all caps is a solved problem.

AFAICT, all caps in titles are also prevented. If you have less than 5 letters, though, it'll get through. And if you have 10% lower case with 90% caps, I think that'll get through as well.

Nice try, SteelBytes. But we can still keep the forum clean the old fashioned way, with moderator tools. Hopefully you got to experience the new notifications, too.

The argument for considering numbers in titles relates specifically to a few of the key words that are likely to show up on MV, such as "GTS300 ABS". Yes, that means that there is a loophole that someone can potentially abuse, but on the whole this is an acceptable balance.

Rang my insurance company today to update the value on my wife's car. Just had it valued and it appears to be worth almost double what it is insured for (Alfa 147 GTA 6 speed manual). Spoke to a lovely lady who had to tell me I couldn't make any changes as it is insured in my wife's name - privacy s*&^. I told her we had been married 48 years this year and there ain't much private between us. "Sorry, I will need you to have her talk to us". That isn't going to happen so I have been sent a form where I can be given 3rd party power to do what I have been doing forever; - look after the insurance for her!

pigletpilot,

Obviously, insurance laws are different in different countries.

I believe both our countries inherited common law from England. Despite this, how it is implemented varies greatly.

Here, you do not set the amount a vehicle is insured for. It is automatically covered for ACV "Actual Cash Vale" or Market Value. With collector cars, or special situations, you can pick an agreed value (and pay more).

Here, your wife is automatically a named insured and has the right to do anything in changing a policy or coverage.

I know it is really different elsewhere.

Question? If it is your wife's auto insurance policy, are you precluded from driving her vehicle? Could you not also be listed on her policy? Can she giver permission "Permissive use" for someone else to drive the vehicle?

Personal opinion only - It seems that many of the other common law countries are heavy on rules , regulations and exclusions. The fact that you have to get a "Sort of official Power of Attorney" to act for your wife seems like a bit of over reach.

I am not against rules, just inefficiency.

Good luck over there - and ride safe.

Bob - I've taken the liberty of reformatting your post above so that it can be properly displayed on all devices (phones, tablets, etc). I realize that you probably don't care about how your posts look on other devices, but as forum owner, I have an obligation to try to serve all people.

You can help by NOT inserting returns in the middle of your text, unless you are starting a new paragraph. Computers are not typewriters. As you continue to type, the text will automatically wrap to conform to your screen, and the text you post will then be wrapped to fit properly on other people's screens.

Please please PLEASE stop putting returns after every line you type. It's an archaic habit that is no longer needed or wanted.

It doesn't play well on phones (depending on the screen size).

If the track is too long for you, and you're viewing on the desktop, consider setting your page width (in your MV profile) to be narrower.
