Can anybody tell me the height of a GTS without the screen AND mirrors. My brother may pick one up today and wants to put it in his Toyota van.

Thx.

I don't know the answer off hand. Someone will chime in but you can get it an inch or two lower by letting air out of the tires.

Year would be helpful but here are some sharing their dimensions:

deflate the tires and it shouldn't be an issue.

I've seen pictures on here of people getting the GT in a van. You might have to tip it sideways to get it in/out over the initial hump of the trunk but should fit provided all the seats are taken out of the back.

For about $20 you can rent a U-Haul trailer and not have to struggle with getting the scoot into a van. You'd still need the tie-down straps regardless of what way you go, and not have to mess with a ramp or lifting.

The above advice is the "charge" for the free measuring I just did: on my 2009 GTS shows between 48 and 49" at the tallest point over the headlight, NOT including the mirrors and windshield. Keep in mind if you have to tilt the bike to get it in the van, you are essentially "raising" the upper side of the handlebars - that will have an effect on the fit.

One point I noticed with my Toyota vans and SUVs is the rear opening is a little smaller than the inside of the van. Once past the opening, you gain a few inches in height, so if you lean it and wiggle it a bit, it might go to nearly upright once you're in. But I think the opening is still too low for a 48in high scooter.

I just traded in my SUV so I don't have a vehicle with a hitch yet, but I have a MC trailer in North Jersey if that helps. But I won't be back home for another two days.

I can confirm the height for a 2013 GTS 300 Touring is 48". Here is my picture of mine being crated ready for shipping to Cyprus. With the handlebars straight, the highest point is the top of the headlight. I was using a pre-used shipping case, so I had to add a 1" batten to the rim to increase the height of the case so that the case lid did not sit on the top of the scooter.

As others have suggested, you will save an inch or two if you deflate the tyre or if it has one, using the side stand in stead of the centre stand.

I hope this helps.

If you use a ramp then the thickness of the ramp will be added to overall height plus the angle thing mentioned above might add even more?
If you don't have a ramp you can add the cost of back surgery or a chiropractor.
