Modern Vespa

HI all I'm new here and have been looking at this site for a while now before I even got my LX150 I have been driving motorcycles for many years and have had 2 Honda Passports along the way talk about a slow moving bike. In 2005 I bought a new SUZUKI Boulevard S50 A 800cc fast nimble moving machine but my first experience was when I was nine years old and a neighbor of mine had a Vespa and asked me if I would like to take a ride of course I said yes so through the streets of NY we went ... That ride opened up a whole new world to me and little did I know that I would fall in love with this scooter for the rest of my life finally I recently bought one and I am one happy camper even though it's not as fast as a motorcycle there's just something about riding this scoot. Well I'm happy to be hear and will asking some question about this scoot of mine... San 8)

If you haven't done so already, join the Yahoo! Group FLScoots to keep up to date with stuff going on in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. Tampa2Stroke regularly hosts ScooTampa rides and get togethers. They're mainly vintage but they allow all makes and models to ride.

And if the bug catches you, some rallies coming up are Deliverance in Atlanta, Scooter Encounter in Orlando, and Tallanasty in Tallahassee.

Hey guys thank you for the welcome and Matthew I work in Clearwater and live in St Pete and thanks for the info you gave me about the Tampa rides I would love to see these scoots and yes Boulty I will be posting pic's of my Daring Plum Vespa soon.....Aaron I KNOW you know that feeling you get on the scoot and Whiteknuckler I was born in that beautiful state of California raised in New York City lived in New Jersey for awhile and now in Florida and just like California we have excellent scoot weather hear as you can see I know your having a great time..... Jimbo absolutely no lurking here we are all wind riders and loving it.

The first is to another YAHOO scooter riding group in Florida. It started in SE Florida and now has members from all over the state. You can link up with others in your area or POST rides and get others to join you.

The second is to SCOOTER ENCOUNTER - the rally. It will be held in Orlando, Florida -- October 5-7, 2007. All of the details are on the web site. It will be a great event to meet other scooter riders.

Welcome to MV Wind Rider. I am over on the other coast of FL. I too am a motorcycle and scooter guy. Since I discovered riding a scooter I prefer the Vespa 99% of the time over the motorcycle. I actually have my Triumph for sale but secretly I don't want it to sell. It is nice to have for the really long hwy trips. My wife and I both ride GTSs and will be at Scooter Encounter in Orlando. Hope to see you there.

Hi guys and thank you so much for the info and the invite unfortunately it's the weekend I will be out of town until the following Wednesday but please keep me informed so I could make to the next one the scooter should be a little more broken in as well I only have 248 miles on it and I'm taking it slowwwwwww as I brake it in. I really like this site and thank you all ...... 8)

stogie8 thanks for the welcome and I wish I could go to the Scooter Encounter in Orlando next time tho ...Trust me when I tell you I know the feeling about selling your bike I have an 800 cc S50 BLVD and I love my Motorcycle cause it raises my adrenalin and I like to do as much speed as I can I need that kick ass speed at times.... BUT I am sure ..... You will miss it when it goes... Really Really think about it .....San 8)

Welocome to the forum. I live in Orlando Fl. and I ride a Vespa GT200 and Aprilia Scarabeo 500GT. If you are ever in the Orlando or Central Florida area give me a shout and we can ride.
