Finally got a helmet mount for the GoPro and took all for a test run on the LX 150.

Learned a lot on what I need to do and not to make my next video a bit better. The wind noise is unbearable unless at a stop - hence the music overlay.

Wanting to do commentary videos on more interesting rides soon.

Let me know what you think?

Thanks.

Looks good. I hear the GoPro Hero 6 is a LOT easier to run than the Hero 3 Black I have (pain in the butt). I recently bought an Aakso V50 Pro to use on the scooter - the image quality on your Hero 6 is noticeably better (as it should be).

I have played around with putting music over the sound, but find much of the non-copyrighted music is cheesy. I had the same situation as you when using the helmet cam: every turn of the head to check traffic and/or mirrors is a rapid swing on the video. While that does give a "rider's perspective," it can be hard to watch for non-riders. I find I prefer shorter snippets and with the camera mounted on the bike, on the mirror stalk.

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Jim. I do have a mount that will work on the scoot but found that the road vibrations captured were worse than the head turning. Will keep experimenting!

I miss it! If I had roads like that to ride on I would have kept it. It is a great running scooter. Crying or Very sad emoticon

For some reason, I'm not able to launch the video. I get the YouTube black screen with the red fwd arrow gif, but the vid won't run.

Very intrigued, as I'm also a new LX150 rider (2006, purchased fall 17 with 1,250 miles. Do not own any video equipment yet.

YouTube videos don't work on MV with the Chrome browser. However, Firefox and a few others work just fine.

Give it a shot.

Good quality image. The angle seems a bit outside the usual range I see on vlogs. I understand that very slightly to the side , like on side of helmet is preferred but this seems a bit more on side than usual.

I like the music - recognizable titles rather than the generic synth/edm stuff that plagues some videos. They actually offer those? I'd rather hear silence than the canned music. Some people fawn over it like it's gourmet soylent green.

My idea of the perfect video is 2-3 minutes unless it's a very compelling topic - still edited for the best beats - not the entire reel.

Here's a motorcycle channel who has really good production values and fun/light hearted content: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNSMdQtn1SuFzCZjfK2C7dQ

Contrast that with this guy who sometimes talks too much (complete with infinite hand gestures): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC5gOBqxAcI3yu2tO_8TXpQ

I understand this can sound petulant but I've done some work productions as well as personal and the audiences can be far more cruel than the harshest vaudeville audiences.

Mine is actually a 2007 LX150 purchased in the fall of 17 with 2300 miles.
Small world.

Hey Jet,

Enjoyed your first video and seeing your 'hood. Thanks for posting!

Have to confess, I only watched the first four minutes. If I have any advice, being a non-techy, non- video-expert-type person, it's for tight editing and a shorter video. Usually if I look for a video and it's over 4 mins, I look elsewhere. Not that I'm low attention span, just pressed for time. Otherwise, enjoyed the music and the cruising view. Good luck!

Nice vid. Mine's Dragon Red.

Noticed in your vid how steady your speedometer reading is -- on mine, the needle is continually bouncing between =/- 5 mph. Probably something else I need to get checked out...

Safe riding!

Speedo reading is rock solid. The scoot is in very good condition thanks to the previous owner!

If you think your speedo is "accurate" I wouldn't spend the money to fix the situation until it completely stops working unless it really bothers you.

YMMV.

Thanks for the feedback. I can live with it, but now I'm wondering what would have caused it to get wonky with less than 1,500 miles on it...

Nice video. I like the position of the camera on your helmet and I don't mind the constant scanning of the road. The only other position I like better is chest mount POV or cockpit view.

The music, well, this is just me...I hate the Rolling Stones, again just *me*. The first 4 or so minutes were on mute. The other music was fine. Really like Eric Johnson! Good choice. That tune works well with the riding.

I would like a commentary while riding, sometimes it's fun to hear about the bike or the area being ridden through. Make the videos *you* want and take us along on your journeys.

Have fun and I look forward to more videos.
