been riding a 300 for a couple years. stock shocks. just recently picked up a 250 because the price was too good to pass. powerwise there is not a huge difference. its a 2007 so it has the digital dash which I am in love with. biggest difference for me is ride quality between the two. the 300 handles far better. it is firmer without being harsher. just inspires far better corning.

so my question is when did the shocks get better? or did they ever change? maybe I am feeling more worn shocks on the 250 ???

I bought malossi shocks for the 300 but never put them on. basically thoroughly pleased with the stock suspension..

Here's a silly question - are the shocks on both bikes set to the same level of pre-tension? Secondly - are both sides on the same level? There are typically 3-4 preload settings and I have seen on multiple occasions where one side is diff than other. This will result in instability.

yeah pre tension is set the same between the two. they have same pirelli tires. visual difference is 300 has red spring on front. 250 chrome. the 300 does have about 1/3 the miles. 6000 vs 17000 miles

I seen a post were guy had a 250 and upgraded to malossi shocks. he then switched to a 300 bike and kept his malossi shocks. when he put them on the 300 he felt it wasnt an upgrade.???

I bought a low mileage take-off front stock shock off a 2014 300. I installed this with a set of Clauss bushings on my GT200. Man what a difference. Can't say about the difference between the 250 and the 300, but the difference between my 200 and the 300 was huge.

It's the old worn shocks effect.

definitely not. there is a different coil count both front and rear. 250 has more coils to ride softer.
