When I was 15 in Kansas, I pulled weeds in the soybean fields. Now soybeans are genetically modified to grow in roundup and create more profits. I avoid soybean products because of that.
Till now, I thought Cheerios were safe. I guess it's too late to change now but I'll look into it. I'm a 56 year old cancer survivor that doesn't take medications. I hope I at least get a few healthy retirement years.
Thanks for nothing corporate America.

Those Cheerios won't do you any good either. Check out "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis.... I have been "wheat free" for 19 months and the health changes (benefits) have been nothing short of amazing. My doctor wanted to hear all about it at my last check up. Nutrition is key to everything....

As someone who eats a significant amount of tofu - soybeans are rather an important staple. What's safe these days. Even our hobby is rather a dangerous pastime.

Good on you for surviving.

Based on your screen name - please tell me you liked the movie Spinal Tap or this lovely melody:

With you all the way. I've hated it for more years than I care to remember. At first because it was indiscriminate, but later on because it had got into the food chain - not just for humans.

I was so pissed off when the UK helped persuade the EU to extend the licence for glysophate. At least France may unilaterally ban it completely within the next few years.

I can see that there might be sensible uses for it in some situations - but never where food production is concerned, or wildlife would be negatively impacted.

Don't get me started on neonicotinoids - killing off our pollinators.

edit - have to check the supply chain for our tofu...

I don't eat Wheat. I'm 6ft0in 180lbs. No risk of the dickey do disease here. Razz emoticon

Not quite sure what to make of that... Gluten intolerance or pure carnivore? Surprised at your certainty about risk.

All of a sudden
Eating organic, all of a sudden, makes a whole lot more sense. Locally, we get our ag-chemicals (and pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemicals) in the drinking water (which I filter before drinking).

Too bad the FDA and EPA exist for the benefit of chemical companies, not consumers.

Gotta laugh when the hunters brag about eating organic game, which runs through chemical-soaked fields, eats chemically-treated grain, and drinks from polluted creeks and waterways.

IIRC, at least the tofu we get is organic. Organic soy in general is doable.

I think Montsanto has been keeping a lid on things far too long. Think Big Tobacco, concussions..... but hey, money is being made.

I saw my first class action commercial against Montsanto this weekend. Time for the greedy lawyers to stick their thumbs in the American cupcake
