I spoke to PM tuning in the UK about this, some time ago, and they said that those clutches were only good if you wanted an adjustable clutch for racing or sprinting. Otherwise, they weren't worth the money.

Have you checked The GTS Owners Club? A couple of posters over there have had good results with the Polini clutch, but I think they had to install heavier variator weights.
As you have posted in my thread about the J. Costa variator, it is recommended and been confirmed by others that the J. Costa and after market clutches do not work well together. A decrease in performance can be expected by mixing them. Dave |

I am definately going to go with a new variator........j.costa/malossi or polini.........are you saying that adding the race clutch is a bad thing if I add it in addition to the variator.......we are talking about the 250 I hope. Thanks agin for the help!

If you have fitted clutch springs that give you the take-off you want, then there is little point in paying for the Delta clutch.
The clutch would have some advantage if you want to frequently change over from racing performance (quick take-off at high revs, stretching the belt) to cruising performance (quieter, more gentle on the drive-belt) and back again. Right. I'm waiting for someone to shout me down. Mike |

Does this mean that a polini or j.costa would be preferable if I do not race or sprint........but just want better overall performance or top end?

my thoughts...
polini clutch is jus pure bolt on speed.... no fiddling around testing bla bla bla... just bolt on and go... malossi is more for tunning.... adjustable to grab when you want it to... whether for sprinting of topspeed... i have the polini clutch on my et... |

The J. Costa variator is said to work best with a stock clutch. This is only what I have read about on other scooters (Silverwing, Majesty, Burgman), I have not tried an after market clutch with mine. As everything I read about the J. Costa on other scooters has been proven on my GTS, I won't second guess the opinions or performance experiments of others.
