I'm taking a little ride from Walnut Creek to A&S Powersports in Roseville this morning. I'll be leaving the house at about 9:30 a.m. I'll be heading North on Hwy 680, across the "new" Benecia Bridge to Cordillia, where I'll fill up at the Chevron Station. From there, I'll head East on Hwy 80 to Roseville, with no stops in between.
I should be arriving at A&S by about 11:00-11:15 a.m. If anyone is off today an wants to join me, feel free!
I'm thinking of putting an East Bay ride together this coming Saturday, while my wife is at our daughter's bridal shower. Stay tuned! FYI: I'm planning a route that'll start in Alamo, take us over backroads to Livermore, with lunch at Bosco's in Sunol. More to follow...

If anyone ever tells you that the 250cc MP3 is underpowered for the freeway, I'll have to beg to differ. I took a little 290 mile ride today, into the Sierra foothills of Foresthill, CA from Walnut Creek.
I was able to maintain a righteous 75 mph most of the day. North of Sacramento the temperature rose to 104 on the freeway, but the temp gauge never moved above the middle of the gauge. I never impeded the flow of traffic. In fact, most of the time, I was able to move along with the flow of traffic in the #1 or #2 lane.
I was completely impressed with the performance of the scooter. Granted, a 500cc version would maintain the speed I was travelling, even when climbing long grades; but the difference, for me, wouldn't be worth the cost! Anytime my speed started to drop off so would the speed of the surrounding traffic.
Obviously, passing isn't the snappiest performance I've ever felt; but if you pick your spots, you can still make the pass. You just have to be more patient. I even did a little dirt riding, up around China Wall OHV area, near Forest Hill, and it handled that well, too!
What a great day!!!!!

Just curious...
...and don't feel like you have to reply if you don't want to...
Do you mind telling me how much you weigh? I'm interested in estimating the performance of the MP3 based on variables like weight...
In other words, I ain't small...
Thanks for your report, in any case...

I'm 6'3" and 260 lbs, with a 34" inseam. I don't have my Fabbri medium windshield, yet, so I make one heck of a large unaerodynamic sail. With all that, I still got OVER 60 mpg, and definitely kept up with the flow of traffic.

I have been to A&S several times. They installed my new rear tire. My dealer in Reno couldn't balance it for me.
Anyway If you go in that direction let me know . I can always come down from Reno and we can meet up.and swap war stories or whatever.
