like the subject notes - man, I spent over a half hour trying to kickstart the thing and out of like 100 tries it worked twice/any tricks to this that I don't know about? (I had the key in the correct spot etc)

i charged my battery this past weekend - am just testing in case it doesn't turn over with the button/the starting just sounds a little different and don't want to get stuck somewhere so removing also isn't an option for me...

I wasn't able to kickstart it before my accident in June. I JUST got her back last night and don't want to deal with it.

The ET & LX models are notorious for not kickstarting.

It can be done apparently with some patience I do not possess.

Do you have a tender yet for your battery? Our models are also known to have less than perfect batteries. The tender helps keep em charged up.

The general consensus around here is that kickstarting an LX is very bad. Rumours abound that the transmission case will crack. Do some searches on the subject.

Be careful.

Tender is basically a charger. If you charged it, that shouldn't be the issue. I need to get one. So far 12 days of actual scooting, it's running alright. (Knocking on wood right now!)

As Gaseous mentioned, do a search for Kickstarting or LX kickstart and read through the many discussions and debates. There was one recently where i believe it's Robotribe actually GETS his scoot to start using the Kickstart (Maybe Spock...cannot recall)

THANKS!!! Feels good to be on my own schedule vs bus or carpooling schedules. Don't crash, it sucks!

kickstarting an lx is a matter of the correct technique.

you must push down on lever until you meet resistence,

then, from there, (don't let it spring back ) press down swiftly and it will start.

this technique worked for me today.

Must be Robotribe, since I removed my kickstarter a long time ago.

The american version of the LX150 kills the battery because the running lights use too much juice. If you convert them back to turn signals, your battery will last as long as it does on an ET.

I'm struggling with deciding about the mod - I feel like other drivers see me better (or my intentions) with the ugly turn signal lights, more so than the running light signals. I saw an LX150 without and the blinkers were a bit more dull so haven't made the switch yet.

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way who knows - if the kick start process was good it wouldn't as much of an issue. I also still have the real attractive reflectors on, they help make me stand out in crappy light/dark situations...

I did take of my stickers off though, they had to go. Kept the no pet sticker as that one is priceless!
