Recently bought a moped, and it came without the key barrel. What do I buy to fix it.

You'll need a new set of locks and keys - the seat needs one as well. They're not that expensive.

That's the actual ignition switch. The end of the barrel has a tang that will engage with that slot.

But if I insert the key barrel thing you told me about, it will just push that thing out?

Ah - you posted again while I was answering your first post.

You will also need a new ignition 'frame' (or whatever it's called) that'll have to be welded to the steering column surround. Plus some wire clips.

Download the parts list and ponder.

I don't have any parts - I'm just another rider.

Contact your local Vespa dealer, or one of the MV sponsor dealers.

I have to ask, how did you acquire this stolen scooter?

At this point you need to visit a local dealership parts dept I think.

7, 10, 12 and 15 I think. Do not bet on that.
Then look at the frame diagram to see if you can get the part that welds to the frame. JimC seams confident it can be bought.
I am not familiar with the ignition set up on these.

Parts list under the diagram should have the name next to each part number.

Understood - but it was stolen and the ignition forced at one time, with the considerable damage as a result.

If you bought it with a good title or from an insurance company's auction then fine. If from some 'dude' on craigslist, probably not.

Actually was bought from a random person, but it's all good. Still not sure what else to order besides the set of keys and the link you send me:(

Not the best way to ensure it wasn't stolen. It could take months for that system to be updated. And does every state report to them?

It is like car fax, which is only reporting claims from insurance company's. So if it was stolen and no claim was filed with an insurance company VIN Check will not know about it being stolen.

I agree. I think if you buy a scooter with broken locks from a random guy then you can be pretty sure it's stolen. The scooter may well even have belonged to someone on the forum. If the OP has a history on the forum then it's easier to trust them. With this being your first thread ...
