I know my 2008 LX 150 will need a thorough going over this winter and I happened upon a nearly free 2006 motor stripped down and my thought was to rebuild the 2006(or at least get it running half decent then swap it so I could take my time on the 2008 rebuild. Well I get the 2006 belt cover off to find the ramp plate stripped out and the shaft pretty beat up. My question - assuming I find nothing else tore up - is this worth saving/ salvageable?

Welcome to MV.

What state is your current engine in that warrants a rebuild?

That's not stripped at all.

The shaved length in the middle is how they all are from the factory.

What you have is fine.

Might be toast. The outer 1/4 inch of splines are critical and those look pretty bad.

I got leaks, I got 8,000 NYC miles, I got a issue with compression, I think I need to take my time and do a lot of seals, gaskets and a cylinder kit.
