I have two Vespa Club Dainese jackets. I need shoulder and elbow armour for both. Been waiting 3 months to get them from Piaggio and just told they don't know when they will get them in. Anyone know any dealers that have them in stock?

Or anyone know any alternatives? The shoulder armour attaches by Velcro and the elbow has a pocket.

For example, could I just buy some Knox armour http://britishmotorcyclegear.com/knox-armor.asp and use that by attaching some Velcro to the shoulder piece? Would it most likely fit?

Find out what kind of armor would normally come with the jacket, then order it from a motorcycle place. Knoxx will probably fit, but you never know. When I tried upgrading my Joe Rocket with knoxx armor, it didn't fit.

I think you mean kneedraggers.com

And yeah, any Dainese armor should work.

do you have a local ducati dealer too? dainese makes a lot of ducati apparel and there armor *should* be universal.

thx, was referred to Dainese directly by local dealer about 2 weeks ago and the # they gave me led to a voice mail (in a thick italian accent) for someone who is out of the office until end of September... not a huge rush for me but am interested in picking up this protection if found eventually
-the Piaggio route on this went nowhere for me

most italian companies take the whole month of august off and have a very light crew working during the month. we have problems getting stuff from both piaggio and ducati during august.

Dainese just opened a "D-Store" in San Francisco and it's huge. And unlike those lucky Italians, they work all through August. You might want to contact them directly to get the armor quicker.

Hehe actually the Dainese store in Rome, which is also huge, was open all through August. But it's very very true that most of Rome, if not Italy, closes down for 2-4 weeks in August for vacation. Quite honestly it was the best month to be in Rome because all the Romans were gone. Traffic was light and I only inhaled 2-3 packs of cigarettes per day through second hand smoke as opposed to the usual 8-10. Laughing emoticon

On my Zentex jacket the "chin" of the Dainese devil logo points forward, and on the outside there is a black plastic 'cup' - the flatter part is down and the sloped part is up.

T Pro by Forcefield
I know this is an old thread, but I highly recommend the T Pro armor that Johnson Leathers in San Francisco carries. Their back protectors have been rated very highly in Ride magazine and others.

Their armor is soft and is super comfortable. I have a back protector and never leave home without it.

Cheers,

Kevin
