Congrats to England. They were the better of the two sides on the Rugby pitch (though the US matched them very well physically). Your capt should have been sent off IMHO (the trip). Oh well. The US scored a try, conv and penalty kick for goal. For us it could have been worse. The reigning Olympic Rugby Football champs are getting better as time goes by.

I must say, either England should be a bit concerned over their play or the US should be extremely happy.

On the US side, you've got

-a break away intercept at the beginning where the player simply ran out of steam when it should have been a sure try (and then Emerick was *kicked* and no penalty given).
-Then you have what was in my opinion a horrible call to negate a legit try by the US. There was no forward advancement in that play.

There's at least a try and a kick right there, possibly two tries, and then a barely missed drop kick. Too close for comfort for England I think.

Then again England is not the power they were four years ago. They couldn't even win the 6 nations this year (if I remember correctly it was France, by points, followed by Ireland).

I was proud of the US play though, and it was certainly nice to watch a close, tough game after watching New Zealand destroy the Italians (who looked horribly bad) and the Aussies dismantle the Japanese (who looked great at first but were just too small). The Aussies had an incredible maul try from like the 22 all the way in, just shoving the Japanese back, back, back.
