My friend was at her baby shower in Hollywood. Gavin was there too. Anyway, my friend said she had a LOT of hair on her upper lip, which is pretty crazy since she's a blond and all. Every time I've met Gwen she's had a LOT of makeup on her.

Yeah, agreed. Somehow, when something goes mainstream, they tend to move away from their roots. The problem is, sometimes, the roots (or raw sound) is something that is not well-received by many so the record execs push these bands away from their original sound, and try to satisfy the masses. In most cases, Mainstream usually equates to "sell-out", as Reel Big Fish pointed out.
