A friend of mine died this last week.
He had a 2007 BV250 that his wife wants to sell.
She wanted me to help her find out what it's worth.
So I came straight to the place of knowledge.
What should it sell for?

Assuming really low mileage (i.e., below 500), figure MSRP minus a couple hundred and that's about it. Higher miles, any scrapes, dings, etc. - thousand less, and so on.
My condolences for your loss.... |

Sorry to hear about your friend. Prayers for their family in this difficult time.
Here's a link to KBB for this bike. It'll give you a ballpark. http://www.kbb.com/kbb/OtherVehicles/PricingReport.aspx?VehicleId=OS8xMS8yMDA3fDE3NDUyNA%3d%3d&ManufacturerId=278&VehicleClass=Motorcycle&PriceType=Retail&YearId=2007 |

Is that different than Moto Bravo? If so you might try MB too. I bought my V90 from them back in 2004 and they owner seemed like a decent and honest guy.
Here's a couple from eBay you might watch for her to see what they sell for: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-Piaggio-BV250-Like-New-Nice-Scooter_W0QQitemZ280151139041QQihZ018QQcategoryZ6722QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-Piaggio-Vespa-BV250_W0QQitemZ180157758964QQihZ008QQcategoryZ6721QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

I'm sorry to hear of the loss. It is never an easy time. I'm going to suggest you try and postpone the sale. Doing things so quickly in the panic stricken days after a tragedy should be avoided until cool heads can prevail and sound decisions can be made. No, there are no particular reasons why not to sell today or tomorrow, but there might be regret if it is gone too soon.

So sorry, Stan. Cant help w the price inquiry, but there've been some good suggestions. Using EBay's "completed sales" search function is often helpful.

Very sorry for your loss. If the scoot has low miles and is in really good shape, I would mid 3000s is very reasonable +/- a few hunderd depending on how fast you want to sell it.
For comparision, the Vespa dealer near me has a new 2007 BV250 on sale for $3999. |
