Modern Vespa

Since there will be a vintage-only ride on Saturday afternoon of this rally (9/22) we need to plan an exclusive ride for young, hot post-1983 scooters at the same time.

Is there a local who volunteers to lead this ride? I dunno - maybe Solvang? Santa Maria? Probably not Ojai since we have been there a bunch before. I am from the east coast so am not the one to lead the ride.

No need to flame the vintage purists here. As a rider of both vintage and modern scooters, I can appreciate the benefits of separate rides for scooters that downshift hard and brake softly, versus fast scooters with good brakes and no shifting.

I like your idea of having an alternate ride Saturday afternoon ride. Would like to have it open to anyone interested, if that's ok.

I rode the Santa Barbara - Lake Cachuma - Solvang - Buelton portion about six weeks ago. I don't know what the traffic is like on a Saturday afternoon, though. If you want to make the ride a little longer La Purisma Mission is a little further up 246 near Lompoc. There are commercial flower growers along the way. I thought it was pretty and the mission is interesting.

Ok, serious understatement here! Just don't go near any ice cream or cheese and you'll be fine with Bobo in the lead!
