The last of my junk finally arrived on the weekend so I was poking around for a box to pack it in when the postman dropped by with a parcel from Trep



Love the chocolates Trep, thanks so much. Luckily the kids had already brushed their teeth tonight when I opened it so I have a really good head start on them.

After perusing this thread I almost feel shamed. Being my first time participating in the Christmas Gift Exchange, I really didn't know what to expect or the level of effort and creativity some of you take things to - which I must say is brilliant to say the least.

Being the ignoramus that I am (read, was) I opted to go very utilitarian with the gifts I sent out. Lesson learned. You all have done a great job and I'll try to step it up next year!

Don't sweat it. I get pretty neurotic about what to do, how much, etc. There are some impressive gifts, I have to admit, but it's not a competition....do what inspires you. Having said that, it does help to see what everyone else does....I think I've been guilty of peeking at previous years' threads....

Hello Modern Vespa riders....

I finally got the package boxed up with a shipping label on it. Taking it to the post office tomorrow. It may or may not make it by Christmas. I have high hopes that it will though.

I don't spend any time on the modern side so I am very glad that someone saw my plea to participate in the NSM side.

I love seeing all the goodies people get.

Courier tracking says my package has arrived in [one of the first countries to usher in the New Year].

Yes an indecent amount of chocolate and other contraband arrived this week. The kids love the chocolate and it provided sustenance for todays hike in the woods.

MJRally really delivered today. I got not one but two packages today, with a really nice Vespa branded mug, and another interesting Vespa branded mug, plus some coffee to put in them.

But that's not all. There was a vintage ornament to go with the small but growing collection, and a blank book (think journal) with the Vespa logo on the front.

HoHoHo and thank you to ValVitola! I received a package containing a Vespa key chain and magnet, as well as colorful coasters from Colombia. Unfortunately the box / holder for the coasters broke in shipping but I think I can fix it.

Val, there was a slight glitch in my shipment to you. I got the street number and zip code wrong - sheesh! The friendly folks at my local post office caught my mistake and said your gift should arrive in Houston tomorrow.

Tracking shows that my package was delivered on Wednesday afternoon, but no word yet from my recipient. Hope it didn't get swiped.

I've got that's same mug. I intend to participate this year but between Harvey restoration and consolidating down to one house I've mislaid the things I picked up on our travels for the exchange. Hopefully I will find them before next Christmas.

Me three! I think my wife found it after my favorite Vespa mug from our local dealer got broken and couldn't be replaced. Pretty cool mug, though I miss my old one....the way it always goes.

There are some (myself included) who sometimes like to wait for the holiday before opening gifts. Sometimes I get ahead of myself, but not this year.

Hoping mine was just delayed somehow. Not much swiping going on in our quiet neighborhood....I hope.

Made my last mail run before Christmas (I check once a week) and was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of wonderful gifts from Dahoum awaiting me. 1. A vintage shifty Vespa made from Coke cans, which at one time belonged to Judy, and 2. An authentic "Tea Towel" from London. Love them both. Thanks Dahoum and Merry Christmas!

See what Santa left yesterday. Thank you Karen, this is a wonderful gift. I love love love my shopping tote , my socks, the ornament and the patches! You will not belive it but I do collect shopping totes!

In a fitting mate to today's weather, being a white Christmas and all, take a look-see at what Jet Peddler sent to me.

Not being quite so tough as I once was, I have taken to wearing a balaclava when riding in the cold. This lately includes bicycle riding in the snow, a distant second to scooting (though, clearly necessary ).

Also a power adapter that I can hook my phone up to, so as to have my music and communication link maintained for those long, long rides.
