From the photos it looks as if the analog speedo might be gone? If so, bleh.
I'm also wondering if the HP or torque output for the 300 HPE motor is any greater than the current? |

It looks pretty decent to me, but then again most Vespas do
I love when new models come out, makes me feel more and more like my GT is a true classic. |

It also looks like its got "edges" added into the styling of the rear cowlings. If so, double-bleh. Maybe it's just the way it was photographed.

The light grey model is the Super Tech version, so maybe the digital dash only comes with that model. Have to wait for more pictures. Two different speedos would entail two different handlebar covers, so that is unlikely.
I prefer the old analogue speedo, but a more accurate one would be nice. Sounds as if they have copied the Malossi cylinder and head and then detuned the electronics for economy/emissions. Not much increase in horsepower, but 18% more torque sounds very nice. I like the green of the touring model. |

Maximum power now comes in at 17.5 kW (23.8 HP) at 8250 rpm, which apparently translates into a 12% increase over the previous engine, while maximum torque, equating to 26 Nm at 5250 rpm, boosting it by 18%. These improvements are paired with reduction in consumption, with mileage apparently increasing from 29.4 km/l to 31 km/l "in the WMTC cycle." |

So even after the styling changes, Piaggio still can't get that front mudguard to sit square with the front wheel. (See pic 4) Always looks off centre. For those like me with ocd. I use a cable tie to attach the mudguard bracket which is on the inside of the mudguard to the front fork to make it square.

Color coded
I like the green and the dark blue.
Styling looks good -- it's difficult to go wrong with the GT_ platform, and they didn't. Seems that they maintained emissions compliance without ruining the engine's performance. Nice. Not enough different that I'd wait for the new model if I were in the market today, but neither would I rush to get the current one before they're all gone. |

Make that a double bleh! on the new speedo!
I've already got my 75th BD present and it's white, not one of the above colors that I mostly don't like-except the blue that I could go for. Several of the new colors are too dark for safety of being seen IMO aside from yellow which like many I would never buy, except in a crayon box or a highlighter. So is the new head & piston design is similar to the Malossi? Past few days were my first long trip on my new 2018 and riding a Vespa with a GPS onboard-the speedo numbers are pretty crappy- seems to run around 3-4 MPH over the top at interstate speeds. There's a new style speedo (like my 2018) on ebay for sale now (overpriced BTW) and the back has a "Made in Malaysia" sticker on it-blame the Malaysians! or who? I don't see "edges" on the new scoot? I definitely don't see anything that has me regretting buying a 2018 vs. the new ones. If going faster becomes a thing it can happen in larger doses than what Piaggio has done to this one. |

Question:
In the first picture of the green Vespa, I'm guessing that's a 300 - but probably isn't - there's a black honeycomb thing ahead of the exhaust, but the in the third picture, the gray GTS doesn't have it.. Is the green one not a 300? I like them.. bella Vespa.. very interested in the SuperTech Vespa with TFT screen. |

Does anyone in US/Canada know if the new GTS with HPE engine will be available here in 2019?

Don't be fooled by the engine performance figures. The Malossi V4 kit increases maximum torque from 20.372 Nm to 21.225, about 5%. But the Malossi kit maintains its higher torque up to much higher revs, so that at 8000 rpm there is a 40% increase over stock.
So we need to see the complete torque/revs graph for this new engine before the figures become meaningful. We also don't know what has been done to the transmission. Can't wait to ride one! |

I really like that new military grey colour. I remember someone on the forum painted his GTS that colour sometime back.

And I've just spoken to someone who has ridden a factory bike. He works for Piaggio. Wow...he says more power everywhere and it's notably quicker than the current 300. Don't know if that means more top speed though. His English isn't very good so we'll have to wait and see. More power does mean the factory could have upgeared the final drive slightly to give it a genuine 82mph on the flat or maybe even 85mph. Can't wait to see how it is!

Cool with the engine upgrades but I have to agree with some on preferring the current styling. Still happy with my 2017 GTV with the Malossi kit, J. Costa, Brembo shocks etc. Will be interesting to see how it compares to the 2019 Vespa for performance.
