My scoot fell over yesterday (center stand was in some soft tar filling a crack I the asphalt), shattering the headlight lens and breaking the headset top. A nice stranger picked up the scooter, gathered up the cracked bits, and left me a note.

The headlight still works, though the lack of a lens is obviously a problem. Any advice on the possibility of replacing the lens rather than buying a whole new unit? I am running a "Euro Vespa P series headlight 1977-2000". I see various lenses on the regular scooter parts websites but they seem to be for earlier bikes, but I am not sure if they will work and, if they will fit, how one goes about attaching them to the reflector assembly. Silicon?

ferrets
Panel grip/adhesive n pull it on tight with tape .... let it dry over night n remove .... Make sure ya dont over do it or you'll end up with a mess inside ya can't get off 👍☺

It'll probably be cheaper to buy the unit though..... add it up first

I've taken lenses off scooters and bikes a few times, and glued them back on with strong silicone jointing compound. Once dry, it's just as solid as the original setup. I assume windshield glue would do fine as well.

Just make sure you use neutral silicone, otherwise the acetic acid will corrode the reflector part of the headlight.

The bit about ferrets is making me laugh. (+: My local pet store closed recently, so I'm not sure where to get one (or what to do with it when I do).
