So my 2019 Touring came with the side stand. I love it...in theory. I'm finding that I tend to drag the part you use to kick it down when I corner. It looks like it is on the bike correctly and sitting correctly when up. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a good aftermarket option where that part doesn't right as low? I'm thinking of taking the factory one off and getting a used factory one, then cut that part down and put some caps on the posts that are left over so I don't scrape my leg/foot.

Thoughts? Is there an aftermarket option that doesn't grag asuch cornering? Didn't see anything on Scooterworks, SIP, Scoterwest unless I missed something.

I removed mine.. scraping it hard may cause you to wipe out. Scraping hard parts is never good in the curves.

I'd definitely remove it and replace it with an aftermarket if possible. You should be able to use "Google Images" to get a directional feel for what's out there and if it would be less likely to drag. Several good vendors to check out: AF1 Racing, Scooterwest, Motovista, etc.

Good luck!

Sorry, that shouldn't scrape that often.

1. Check your tire pressures. I don't know what you weigh, but if you're over 160 lbs. run them a bit higher than recommended. I use 29/32.

2. Your rear shocks should be adjustable, again depending on your weight, you should be using the second or third position.

The end.

Just bend it up.

Seriously, if it's just that foot-extension dealie-jobber you should be able grab it and push it up, closer to the body.

Thanks all! I do like to use it, so going to keep it on I think. Mine also has the kill switch when you put it down, so if I took it off I'd have to dick with the wiring. I will bend it in a bit for now and see if that helps! May have to get a chrome aftermarket one...you know...to help with the scraping

Will do! Work travel this week.

Rode in the rain yesterday in Portland, it's 74 and clear blue skies in San Jose. I'm riding here next time!

I lean pretty far.

Good point on the shock. I will set the preload a bit. Will check the tire pressure too! I go 210lbs, so that could be part of it.

I weigh 215 and wear Toreador Pants too and have mine set on full pre-load which feels right.
A long bar or screwdriver will bend the "ear" on the SS.
My larger SS foot works great and an easy DIY project too.
