There are other more "substantial" cup holders available but I like the Ram concept better as it's portable, doesn't require drilling and doesn't impeded leg-swing.

OP didn't include a picture of the actual mount the ball inserts into. It's a very secure spring-secured clamp device that mounts onto either mirror stalks or handlebars. Easy to attach and remove and move from scoot to scoot.

Google RAM Mounts for a better idea.
