Modern Vespa

I've mentioned that I'm planning on selling my 2016 Honda CTX 700 DCT. I'll be riding it down to Houston as soon as the roads in Breckenridge are snow free after the 54" of snow we've gotten out of the training storms.

I'm considering being lazy and just trading it in on a BV 350 since the plan is to sell both the CTX and the BV 500 we own replacing the two of them with one BV 350. So the choice is coming down to a matte green - AF1Racing has one in stock, red from a dealer in Oklahoma or white in Albuquerque. Green is my preferred color of the options available but I can't tell from the photos whether I'd like the green or not. Anyone seen one in person?

The green one must have just come in. I rode my GTS from Houston to Austin on Saturday, to leave my GTS at AF1 for some body work. I wanted to look at a BV, but they didn't have one in stock. I have never seen a green one and would have liked to have seen one in person.

Over 6' before it stopped yesterday but it is snowing again today. I wanted a few days of sunshine for the roads to get clear of ice.

We've got grey, black, grey, I think I saw a white one and grey. So if you've got access to a green one and a red one, that sounds like Christmas. I think we get your left overs.

Well we get the EU left overs being normally a year behind what they get in Europe. Normally we seem to get only two colors so the fact that there are four this year is unusual. I'll definitely get something other than black. My son has the matte black 2016 so I want my husband and mine's to be a different color.

The US does NOT get EU left-overs. It has its own separate production run, which is necessary because of the different vehicle regulations.

I suspected that was the case. Any idea what all is different between EU and US scoots?

Other than the speedo what is different between the US and EU model? We seem to get the engine and body changes a year later than the EU.

We do lag about a year behind color changes and other updates vs the EU. The newest GTS they just showed at EICMA this week will be a 2019 in the EU, probably a 2020 early release here.

jimc is right, we get our own US runs, not really leftovers. Mainly its labeling changes (DOT/EPA markings, warning labels, etc) but sometimes bigger things like US-only turn signal locations, clear screens instead of tinted, US non-LED taillights.

Well, if the snow melts enough for me to get the Honda CTX out I may see you early next week re trading one for the other.

Speedo, lighting, reflectors, warning stickers, VIN plate location, Evap Crap, ECU mapping.

Don't the current EU models also have a fuel evaporation control system?

Some may do - I do not know. They didn't a while ago.

Interesting - looks nice in that green, though if one added an invasion star, it would look like US Army issue...
