Hi everyone. I was looking to replace the left rear brake light. I removed the bulb and the red lens inside the assembly just came loose. So...

Anyone have an idea how I can re-attach it? It's a real ship in a bottle.

Is there a way to take the assembly apart without breaking it? It's glued together.

Does anyone have one for sale?

Thanks!

I have seen comments on this issue before where the lens separates.

Did you check ebay?
Just replace it, but make sure to check the pictures and ask questions.
I have seen them as low as $15.00.

all I did with mine was to drill a one inch hole in the top just in front of the bulb,i was then able to use a bit of blu-tak on a stick to hold the inner cover on to where it should have been. then using super glue glued it in place and just put a rubber Gromit into the hole I made. very simple took about 1 hour to do both including removal and installation.

Thanks.

I have been thinking of a similar fix, but working through the bulb opening.

I'm going to try this on Saturday.

This is how it came off in the first place. I will be replacing the bulb with a red LED, but the red lens would still be rattling around loose.

I re-glued mine with some super glue. It did frost the plastic a bit but nothing I can't live with. I am running red led's as well.

I did the full LED replacement and it's looking good. I tried gluing the lens back in, but it didn't work. The brake light is quite visible with a red LED even with the lens loose, so I'll just leave it for now.

The LEDs are much brighter than the original bulbs.

I was wondering why the brake lights were white on my (new to me) 2010 MP3 400. I ordered two LED replacement bulbs and when I took a look at the light fixtures both had the red cover caps bouncing around in there. I guess they will stay in there, hopefully will not break the new bulbs. Thanks for all the great help on the forum. Search and you should find the answers. Really enjoy riding the MP3 !
