Modern Vespa

A cold front has been moving in today. Went out to run errands and came home to find the LX-150 blown over and laying on its side at the feet of the Vulcan S 650. Both are parked under an awning behind the house and both had covers over them strapped snugly.

Feared the worst but I discovered the ONLY damage the LX-150 sustained was a right hand side mirror snapped off at the stem. No dents, no scratches, nothing. Didn't even crack or scratch the headset. Whew!

The Vulcan got it a little worse, but not by much. What saved the LX-150 was the Vulcan's front fender which cushioned the scoot's fall. The mirror hit the plastic fender and cracked it when it snapped off.

All in all, I'm going to escape with about $225 in total damages. Double whew!

Before I order a replacement mirror, does anyone have such a spare creature they are willing to sell?

Glad you survived without much damage. ON the Vespa, it's a PITA to change the fender. Hopefully it easier on the Vulcan.

Thanks, and true. I thought about that once I had finished the post.

However, I could have ended up with the headset cracked, scratched body panels, etc. on the 150, and the same on the Vulcan. Unlucky the wind blew it over but lucky it as the damage could have been a lot worse.

Give ya five bucks or a big glob of wasabi for your 150 mirror.

Well, it's technically my wife's scooter and when spring comes around, there will be hell to pay....

Just tell her the rats must have chewed it off and hauled it away.

My son got home from work the other morning to find this, it was very windy during the night.

I bet his reaction was just about the same mine was, and totally unsuitable for print.

All he said to me was.....

His bike typically comes 'home' to 'roost' in my garage for the winter....

Same concept as the cowl protectors on our scooters.

Wow, that must have been a gusty wind. I always thought they were
safe when parked up on the full stand. The cover must act like a sail to
"blow the man down".

I am fortunate to have a garage big enough for both my scoots. All I have
worry about is my blushing bride swinging to wide and hitting them.

Are we talking real wasabi here? That stuff is expensive.

If the Maus goes for it, I plan on saving up the globs of wasabi I don't use the next few times I go out for sushi.

Fancy sushi place, most of the time that is just horseradish and other stuff. $15 USD for a quarter ounce.

Poop! Sorry JP you had me with the wasabi. I also say I'm glad the damage wasn't worse. Not having a garage I'm sure comes with its share of issues with wind being one of them.
