Respraying my GTS muffler. Picture shows it with some VHT primer after it was cleaned up. Tomorrow its flat black.
BTW, does anyone know if the BV350 muffler paint deteriorates just as quickly, I presume they are made in the same factory with the same paint ? Thanks.

My friend who was going with me to Austin for the game tonight had to back out so I sold my two tickets, and...

Looks like it's either the BV or GTS tomorrow but today I'm actually going riding with the Ducati Riders of San Antonio (on the Vulcan). They say they are an all-inclusive group.

We'll see.

Had a great ride with the Ducati Riders of San Antonio today. Met at a very cool coffee hang-out, visited the Motorcycle Shop of San Antonio (Vespa dealer), the local Ducati dealership, and then on to Big Lou's Pizza for lunch.

Very friendly group of folks. Along with 13 Ducatis, there was an Indian, a Kawasaki Vulcan (mine), a Triumph Bonneville and a Vespa Primavera (which only came to the meet-up, but not the ride.

Looking forward to riding with them again.

It's a Messerschmitt KR200. A lot of the German airplane manufacturers starting making strange micro cars after WWII in order to keep their economy running and folk employed. In the late 60's I remember being taken to school in a tiny red Isetta bubble car - I was only about 8 but I still remember looking at it and thinking wow!

Friday went to visit the orthopedic who did my original TPF surgery who confirmed that yes, the knee is crumbing. Back to PT to see if we can strengthen the supporting muscles in order to delay knee replacement until next spring.

Saturday was errand running on the new Vespa under sunny 74f skies. If you have to spend a day going from one store to another doing it on a Vespa makes it better. Fortunately, I wasn't getting anything too big so everything fit either under the seat or in the top case.

Today being lazy in the morning then going dancing in the afternoon. One of our favorite instructors is doing a workshop so we'll go, take it and stay to dance with friends at Neon Boots. Since the clouds have rolled in with rain projected to start anytime seems a good way to pass a rainy afternoon.

Ouch. Le Wife is currently recovering from surgery on her left knee nearly two weeks ago (actually her last non-replaced joint...that makes both knees, hips and shoulders, as she's a self-confessed poster child for osteoarthritis). This is likely the smoothest operation of all she's had, although I've only been around for the last three. They had her on a walker hours after the procedure, back home two days lateran getting around for now on a cane, albeit slowly. They expect her to be driving to PT in a week. The surgical techniques have changed a lot in the two-years-plus since her other knee was done - less cutting into muscle, pushing things inside now instead, so everything seems to go faster. Hoping this all helps by the time you have the procedure.

I tell you, I reminisce the days not a month ago when the odd 70° day (without rain!) still materialized, and somehow I managed to me astride Melody for whatever needed/wanted to be done or bought. So sweet, even though I'm okay in 45° or so air, since I'm more or less equipped for it. Glad you've got it to enjoy!

Ah. Le Wife lives for dancing. Before surgery, she was going to dance/barre/yoga classes nearly every day...and you can imagine the cabin fever she's been dealing with these past two weeks. It'll be at least another month before she's nearly ready to get back into that groove, but she'll get back to it.

amateriat, good on your wife. Doing the PT is the most important part. My intention is to have it done after ski season and winter is over. Yes, I do intend to ski this season despite the knee. I have an offloader brace that I'll be using. It takes 3-4 months post surgery to be cleared for skiing and frankly I don't want to have to deal with snow and ice while recovering.

We are swing dancers. I stick mostly to the smoother west coast style since my knees don't really like the higher impact of east coast.

Not sure whether the newer less invasive techniques will be possible given that the replacement is not due to arthritis but because the joint was cobbled back together from the 18 pieces it broke into from my accident in 2013. I hope so but as you said they are getting better the replacement parts, surgery procedures and rehab. Folks I know who have had it done in the last couple of years say it is better than the original in some ways. I'm not terribly worried about the surgery just the timing of it and the limitations for a few months.

Thanks for the thoughts but realistically I've gotten at least 2.5 years longer out of it than I thought I'd get after the damage that was done. OTOH I am a firm believer in PT so hopefully it will buy me the extra 6 months I want.

Sad looking at those microcars. Not in the way you would think-they're lovely. A collector a couple of hours from me opened a museum with his microcars and antique motorcycles in his small town. Heavy flooding this summer severely affected the town, and I'm afraid the museum. Not sure what shape everything is in. At least we got to see it a couple of years ago on one of our Wisconscoot rides.

Good luck with the knee, Cheryl. Not too exciting looking forward to those things.

You and Le Wife would be kindred spirits - she was big on swing dancing, misses it a lot, and thinks she might be up to it again after building her strength and agility back up in several months. Only issue is that while she had lots of places and people in NYC, it's not that common out here in Joisey.

Sounds like either:

1. A new PTW
2. A new job
3. A big fat tasty promotion

Standing by to find out which.
Wrong on all three counts.

Here is what happened. I bought this.

Not quite a Spider but I do get the reference! Haha...that was the first thing my buddy Greg said. Not sure I feel any more male driving it but I do take on a wolf's more violent traits if someone gets too close to my new baby.

I will never understand why car companies don't remake their little cars ..... Instead they redo em bigger. ... an original sized mini would be amazing in a city ... imagine parking that tiny thing ..... or a Fiat 500.....
I used to pass the back of the mini garage on my way to work .... It had 3 minis parked in a row ... the original. . A mini one .. n a clubman .... the mini one is a bloody big thing .. on its own it's quite deceptive

Big Bend bound!!! Alas, a scooter-free trip, but should be awesome nonetheless.

Heading to Mexico City to school the locals on Thanksgiving. Razz emoticon

Going to be with my wife's family, eat awesome food (hopefully avocados are still 3/$1), and watch a Cirque du Soleil performance. Told my wife that I'd need an interpreter as my Spanish is bad.

And visit Tina, my favorite Mexican barista (a short walk out of the house). Hard to beat a $1.50 cappuccino.

Trying to decide whether to crock pot curry or slow smoke the pork butt for Thanksgiving. I did smoked lamb last week for my cousin party, the curry recipe looks intriguing, leaning toward that one.
