I am almost 6'3 and was looking at a Piaggio BV 200 or 250 on ebay but was concerned about being cramped on the scooter. It looks like the seat restricts how far you can sit back on the sit so if you are limited to adjust your riding position. any other tall riders out there that own a piaggio or would reccommend another scoot? thanks so much for the info!

Tripp,

I am about 6' 2" and have a Vespa GTS 250. I have about a 36" inseam and feel fine on the scoot. I actually owned an LX 50 Vespa before this one and felt OK on that as well. I think it is easier for us tall guys on the scoots rather than the vertically challenged out there. wife is 5' 2" and rides a GTS as well. She has a tough time touching the ground.

I'm about 5'7" and fit perfectly on the BV250, any taller and it MAY be a bit uncomfortable without either sitting on the passenger area or getting the seat fitted. I would suggest moving the location of the bump a few inches back. At your height the BV200/250 is a perfect height with the seat fixed.

I'm 6'4" and I just test drove a BV 250 at the dealer. I fit on it but my legs were pretty well locked into only one position and I could not move them around. That might be fine for quick trips ito town but would be cramped for longer rides. The seat limits how far back you can go.

I did ride the X9 and it gave me plenty of leg room and the handle bars did not hit my knees so that might be worth trying.

The Vespa GT and GTS have lots of leg room.

I hope that helps.

Hi, I'm 196 cm (6'5") and I have a BV 250. I've had it since March '07 and have about 9500 km on it as of this week. I love it. No problem with leg space, handlebars don't hit the knees. I'm done some 350 km days with no problems. Did I mention I think it's a great scooter? Razz emoticon

Sorry Bud, but this must be a "try it and see" kind of thing. I have talked with many people that thought they were tall and were too cramped on different scoots...and many real tall people that say they fit fine. I sat on a BV250 and thought it was a good fit...my shorter friend jumps on and says he is just too tall for this scoot.

Find one in your town...sit on it..if you like it...find one for sale, buy it, ride it, smile all day long.

For what it is worth...I'm 6'3" 235lbs and thought I would fit the BV250. I have a GT and LOVE the fit (can move the feet around some).

I'm 6'3" and have a problem with most scooters with that fixed seating position like the BV. The Vespa gives you some sliding room, this seat doesn't. Of all the scoots I've sat on the Bergman was the only one that had a variety of seating positions with the fixed seat back. You really are going to have to sit on one to see for yourself.

When I'm 2 up on the GT my knees are almost touching the glove box and it's not nearly as comfortable as when I get to slide back and forth and change positions.
