Hello, I need some help with getting my gtv up and running again. My engine won't turn over and was stuck at the superstore for 5 days. I just got it home and was able to work on it and cannot figure out the issue.

2007 GTV Carb

Problem
Try and start and does not turn over at all. No clicking just you can see that the power is being drained as the light goes dim as normal when you first would start it. Signals and horn work fine.

Remedies that I have tried.

* Checked all fuses. All in working order.
* Battery is a month old and is fully working order. 12.6v reading on the battery. I even tried jumping to be sure. Tested also with another working battery.
* Red key tried no turnover.
* Took my neighbour's starter relay that is working and still no turnover.
* Disconnected alarm still nothing.
* Ran through all the cabling and wires for a disconnect or burnt through cable and nothing.
* Took kill switch apart and sanded all the points out, still no luck.
* Vapour lock - took fuel cap off just in case, no luck.
* Took off all air filters still no luck.

So it is narrowed down to either ECU or bad starter? Is that correct? If so are there any other suggestions? How do I test the ECU or if it is a bad starter? Is that possible?

Not sure if this is possible to do. But get a wire the size of the battery cable and run from the battery to the starter and see if you get it to turn over then.

More knowledgeable people than I will respond, but....

Do you have voltage at the starter relay when trying to start? How about at the starter?

What do the volts across the battery drop to when you attempt to start?

Resolved
Called Adrian at http://www.myscooterguys.co.uk/
and helped me out by saying there is either a jam in the transmission or you have a frozen engine. He said it is very weird bc this is rare but check it out. Well it has to be rare bc there are no posts on jammed bendix or photos.

1 - Starter was fried bc I tried to start so many times.
2 - Replaced new starter
3 - Installed new working starter and did not start
3 - Drilled out 4 bolts which took a while in tight locations. Pic attached
4 - Opened Transmission case
5 - Jammed bendix (Starter Segment) Pic attached

Will do a service on rollers and belt now.

Thanks for all your input and I hope this post helps other owners.

Thanks for the follow-up post. I, for one, would never have guessed a jammed bendix.
