Or in your topcase...

In a recent thread, I saw the recommendation to always have an extra ignition switch on your scoot. Now there's something I never would have considered.

So...what's packed away on your scooter? Rain gear? Extra tools? Tire plugs? Air compressor? Spark plug? Belt and related tools?

I imagine the list gets longer if you're traveling 100 vs. 1 mile, but what do you ALWAYS have with you?

I take delivery on a GTS 300 Super in April, so some suggestions would really help. Thanks!

All sorts of miscellaneous 'junk'. Most importantly, some rudementary rain gear and extra gloves.

Since its gets hot under the seat only things that can stand the heat. Mostly tools. Registration and insurance docs. Pocket plunger for flats and mini air compresser. Roadside assistance card. Poncho for the rain. Power card for my cell phone. Spare spark plug and cap. Ear plugs for long rides. A towel. Spare batteries and flashlight to fix things in the dark.

Under the seat are the registration and insurance docs (slotted into the notches/hole in the underside of the seat pan), and a Vespa baseball cap to conceal helmet-hairstyling.

Trouble kit is on the no-passenger not-seat (this is a S150 with the "racing" seat") in a modified wedge-shaped toiletry kit from Ikea. I don't always carry it.

This kit contains:
- Dynaplug tire plugs and insertion tool
- "Gummy Worm" tire plugs and associated tools (for severe tire damage)
- CO2 tire inflator and 5 cartridges
- Multi-tool
- Duct tape (about 3 feet)
- Zip-ties (lots)
- Latex gloves (several pairs)
- Tire gauge
- Felt-tip pen (sharpie)
- Small USB battery brick, short cable and USB-C adapter
I probably ought to add a flashlight.

Tailbag on rear rack generally has:
- Rag
- Paper towels
- Individually-packaged eyeglass wipes
- OEM tool kit (moved from under seat to provide clearance for helmet)
- Card describing the "Euro Turn Signals" conversion wiring harness modifications (wire colors, connector orientation, part numbers of non-stock parts, etc.)
- 22 oz bottle of water (in warm weather)

Legshield pockets (again, this is an S150 -- the LX ones have a glovebox there instead) contain:
- Weighted ziploc bag with a pair of foam earplugs
- Individually-packaged eyeglass wipes
- Small pull-top bottle for water (in warm weather).

Rain suit
Puncture repair outfit
Jumper leads
Tool kit
Piece of rag

When I am riding my phone and wallet will be in there too. Don't like the bulges in my pockets.

In the glovebox I keep
Medical kit
Torch
Glucose tablets (I am diabetic)

Edit: Forgot about the roll of electrical tape.

NB I have chopped out the silly compartment that used to hold the Piaggio tool kit. Makes the glovebox much more useable.

Thanks for all the responses!

A quick tally shows these as some of the most popular items...

Tire patch kit
Air compressor or CO2 cartridges
Rain Gear
Extra tools
Registration/Insurance documents
Flashlight
Rag/paper towels
Zip ties

Seems like a good list!

Nothing. I keep the pet carrier on the LX150 empty so I can fill it with shopping items while I am out. But I did outfit the underside of the seat with elastic cord for document storage, spare earplugs, tool roll and flashlight.

between my pet carrier, my top box, my front rack, and the shopping bag clip between the legs, and a backpack, I can carry a ton of stuff on my vespa if I have too, and I have done it. It is much more fun on the vespa than in a car.

My underseat storage typically contains...

Tool roll with a wide variety of pliers, wrenches, bailing wire, zipties and screwdrivers
Tire repair kit with mini compressor
Rain gear
Kickstand puck for soft ground parking

On longer trips away from home, I'll add...
Jumper cables
Cargo net

When I travel on one of my old Vespa GTs, I carry a bag of tools and another bag of spare parts.

Parts include belt, variator, rollers, spark plug, coil, lead, headlamp, exhaust gasket, etc. The tools can be used to change all of the above.

Then there is the season gear and rainsuit if it looks like it might rain.

When I ride the new Yamaha I carry the gear, but not the tools or spare parts.

If I had a new Vespa GTS, I would skip the tools and parts too, except the exhaust gasket.

In mine I have a Tucano water proof trousers, helmet bag, visor cleaner, a couple of rags..... and most importantly my own tool roll with pretty much everything I can think of I might need.

Only things I need to get are tyre plugs and inflator canister.....I think.

Things are changing as I've used my birthday/christmas money to get some needed items:
Tire Pressure Gauge
LED Flashlight
Multi Tool
Additional High Visibility Vest
Full Leather Gloves/Mesh Gloves (One pair I wear for whatever the weather is, the other is storage/for an additional rider)
Extra pair of Earplugs
Simple First Aid kit (Made it with my son's Cub Scout group as part of their Emergency Preparedness badge)
Paperwork (Registration and copy of Insurance.)
Rain Chaps
Neck Warmer
Bungee Cord (Used to have two but my son's sleeping bag is using my spare now. Gotta go get a few more to have on hand)
Current and or Extra Helmet. As I have a top case I could carry both if I move all of these items around.
My old Battery tender and cables from the LX150 (Though I think I need to get an updated model. I'm not sure the connectors work for the 300
A Shamwow style Towel (Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy for the reason) and a cloth shop rag
*want to get Slime or some other tire flat prevention/temp fix) I realized responding to another post regarding tires that I've had a history of running over nails/screws in my area. Need this to help me get home.
* I used to carry in my jacket $3 or so in cash in case I needed to fill up in an emergency. I got away from that and need to start that again.
