Modern Vespa

I'm sure there is at least one artistic person on here.

There are one or two removable plastic panels on a Vespa. It will be very easy to replace them with identical panels of a different colour.

So what colours go together?

Red and white, or black and white seems to work. Oddly enough, I once saw a mix and match with black and the peptobismol pink that was used on a few LX. It actually seemed okay too.

go to Italy and you will see some interesting color combos, particularly on older bikes, and more so on plastic bikes than Vespas.

Is that one pink or red? Seat kind of looks pink, scooter looks more red.

It is red if you saw one out in the world. That red/white and the corresponding light blue/white were actually factory models of the S50/150 called "Campus". You can see a blue one in the background.

I have two GTS300s, one blue and one white. Some time ago I swapped the plastic side panels and the horn covers just for fun, and they both looked pretty good in two-tone. The white one looked rather like the yacht club mode. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos. They are both monochromatic again now.

You might also look at adding some pin-striping.

My dealer did that with two or three pairs of scooters as well. Among others, he did a swap both ways between a black LX and a peptobismol pink which I mentioned above. I thought the black one with pink accents looked pretty good. Other customers must have thought so as well. He sold all the scooters he customized with plastic panel swaps.

Funny how two-tone cars were so popular in the 1950's, and then the fashion died out and all we get is monochrome these days. Very boring. .
Of course there was a brief psychedelic phase in the 70's.

There is so much scope for personalising cars colour-wise. But all we see is silly family stick figures on the rear window. Or some burn-stripes on a sporty saloon.

I would like light blue trim and horn cover on my blue gaiola GTS. And maybe on the topbox too to balance it. That would be classy.

I have a spare horn cover. Just need some second-hand side panels.

Ah. My LXV is Midnight Blue and there is a light blue LX . This has promise.
